Re: "Recipe" type aggregator for memcoder, ffmpeg, mp3gain etc.

Read this post earlier and while checking my email I run across this --> https://www.howtogeek.com/700045/how-to ... g-winstall

It's not quite the same but it does create a script that can be used to install apps in Windows 10 PowerShell.

Re: New suggestion for CLI database - Roast me!

I really like the example for "icacls" linking to the site with a description, syntax and parameters so it's easier/faster to fine tune the recipe or clarify what the arguments mean. Also, your note about linking to the version that was successfully used is a great idea. Would a "note" at the end of...

Re: Poll: This determines whether there would be a CLI database at all

I have seen a lot of discussion going on about the CLI database for some time and I would like to see it live. That being said, I've only rarely added input because I'm not sure how much use it will get. It seems like a wasted effort if nothing is ever to come of it but I wonder if more than a few o...

Re: XP compatible software

With that going around as long as they are saying, MS should just release the source so projects like ReactOS can use it to possibly make their project more secure. Although, I don't see that happening.

Re: Re: CLI Database Discussions - defining CLI and GUI

I see anything that can be used/controlled from the command line as CLI to an extent but even a lot of GUI based programs can be used in that way as you've stated. It would just come down to personal preference for inclusion. If the program is first and foremost a GUI based program you could just ad...

Re: Small USB drives

I have several Corsair Flash Voyager drives. The first one I got is 8GB from quite a while ago and still kicking with a LOT of usage. At least 2-3 of the newer ones (32GB+) have failed within 1-2 years with very little use. Makes me wish I had just bought a bunch of the 8GB one back then.

Re: Mediachance Free Software

From the name I was thinking the Free Digital Camera Enhancer was something similar to this --> https://www.rupert.id.au/tutorials/CHDK/index.php . I've used CHDK a few times on my old Canon A610 and it's pretty sweet. Been thinking about trying it out on my Canon SX50HS for lightning pics and such....

Re: First post of topic auto locked after 7 days

Would it be possible to archive an initial post when it's being edited? That way Vevy could still edit the posts but an archive would be available in the event of a problem? I will take a look at this suggestion later.. don't have a clear idea of how that might work. Could be as simple as a screen ...

Re: Internet Archive lawsuit

Damn that is just screwed up thinking from those publishers. Greed plan and simple in my opinion. Sad thing is it's not a surprise with the corporate mentality these days.
