Sunshine Game Stream Server

A few years ago I posted a submission for the portable version of the game streaming client, Moonlight: https://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=93108#p93108 Since then, a replacement game streaming service, Sunshine, compatible with the Moonlight client, has been developed and has a ...

Re: SCP-3008

Thanks for checking. I'm sometimes not sure about the distinction between "portable" and "no-install".

SCP-3008

"SCP-3008 is a game based on the SCP story with the same title. Explore the EKIA store, build a base out of furniture, eat some meatballs and try to survive the attacks of the mutated staff. There is a variety of game mechanics, including scrapping furniture to gather crafting items, traps of a...

UwAmp, still being developed, has come a long way and deserves another look:

Re: AnyDesk

I use both AnyDesk and TeamViewer, as TeamViewer tags computers it is used on with a corporate license (if you use one), and you can no longer use it for just personal use on that computer. However, there was a problem with AnyDesk used on Android phones, which they address here: https://anydesk.com...

Re: What tools do you use to test Portability?

Wonder if anyone has tried the new Windows Sandbox feature of Windows 10 (Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise only) to test for Portability?

Re: Portable Freeware Ideas

Thanks for the suggestions. Nir Sofer does make many good GUI and command-line software administrative tools, and PowerShell has gone through a lot of changes recently, with Windows 10, justifying a re-look at its progress. Like everyone else, I usually barrel through these tasks on a case-by-case b...

Portable Freeware Ideas

As an IT Administrator, there are certain tasks that Windows doesn't do well, still, after all this time. It is irritating to have go to the internet each time, look up various steps, and perform these manually, over and over again. Isn't this what programming was supposed to be for in the first pla...

Not sure if it helps anyone, but one of the tools mentioned in the old article can still be found at kixtart.org.

The ABC Plus Project (music notation)

I'm not posting this as a formal submission because I'm not sure many people would be interested, but for those who are interested in ABC music notation, this site has many different links to programs that can help you work with it, some of which are portable.

Re: Iron Portable

According to this article SRWare Iron is spyware. Most of the tests on this site are a year or two old. I'm not doubting the data, just would be interesting to see more recent results, especially with the outing of large companies selling user data in the news. Probably not much change for products...

Re: BlueStacks Android emulator

I had gotten a flip touch-screen laptop computer. Thought it would be great to run an Android emulator on it as well as Windows and have the best of both worlds, as it was an 11.6" screen. Putting an SSD drive in helped with a lot of the slowness from emulation, as well as the laptop's slower p...

You don't need AutoHotKey after the script is compiled. The final binary executable is about 800KB.

Re: small footprint 'text editor' program with command line ?

This worked for me in AutoHotKey: SearchString = %1% FilePath = %2% SplitPath, FileName, OutFileName Run, %windir%\system32\notepad.exe %FilePath% WinActivate, "%FileName% - Notepad" ControlFocus, "%FileName% - Notepad" Sleep, 300 Send ^{f} Send %SearchString% Send {Enter} Send {...
