Re: Memento (quick note utility)

I'm glad you like it. It doesn't meet my needs, but in looking for a way to print from MemPad (http://portablefreeware.com/?id=889), I discovered Clip2Print which is a portable taskbar utility to print the clipboard contents. You may find it useful. I checked the links and download from this old for...

Re: Combine batch of images into a PDF

SwiftPDF does exactly what you want, I think. Despite its age, it works on Win 10. It defaults to 1 image per page, but you have some control over size by using page size and margins.

Re: What launcher programs are you using?

Famulus , by our own dmg , has remained #1 for about 4 years now. I prefer keywords to mice clicks or multiple files and Famulus is 3 portable files, the small .exe written in AHK, a config file, and the commands/shortcuts. I use Famulus a lot with CLI files, such as CMDOW , NirCmd , and Horst Scha...

Re: New site logo?

I'm not good with drawing or graphics, but here is a concept pic. A suitcase comes to mind. https://imgur.com/a/4QcoYIU For a larger logo, perhaps an open suitcase on a stand, seen from the back, much like Manhattan 1950s street vendors, who had to be very portable should the local beat cops come ar...

Re: Simple Family Tree

Adding siblings requires a parent. I have added "Unknown father /surname/" and "unknown mother /surname/" in such cases as placeholders. Some other programs or sites do allow sibling addition and then automatically add the "unknown"s in themselves, but it amounts to just about the same thing. As far...

Re: Video player that has 10 secs back & forward buttons ?

Portable VLC does this. Try Shift-Arrow (left or right) to go back or forward 3 seconds, Alt-Arrow for 10 seconds, and Control-arrow for 1 minute. The hotkeys can be manipulated by going into the settings. Here is a whole bunch of hotkeys for VLC https://www.howtogeek.com/196371/master-vlc-with-thes...

Re: is there a sync program that let me select the files inside the folder?

Have you tried SyncExp? https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=605 I've used it for years, and I can include or exclude subdirectories, automatically choose files to ignore or delete, and choose one- or two-way syncing. The link is down at softpedia, but I found it on the Wayback Machine: htt...

The line Nircmd.exe clipboard clear does it for me I personally don't like lots of batch files, so I placee it in a line in Famulus, which is always running on each of my machines. in commands.dat |clear|Nircmd.exe clipboard clear||| Nircmd TPFC discussion link https://www.portablefreeware.com/forum...

Re: is there a freeware prortable or not that let me create an exe with an audio file?

For things like this I usually use Bat to Exe Converter (https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=1660) and convert a single line batch file: I use System Tray Play (old and there are forum discussions on this) music.bat "stp.exe" "audiofile.mp3" I then use Bat to Exe Converter and choose Windo...

I use tag.exe. I am attaching a forum discussion on it from a few years ago with the download link. Scroll through the comments as it adds to the limited documentation.

Re: Famulus

Famulus has become one of my all-time favourite getting things done apps, especially since I would rather type commands than look for and click icons. It does, however, have some limitations. Since I am not a coder, I have found a few other ways to make famulus "sing" that I'd like to share Use with...

Re: Create Your Own HomePage

I use http://www.dailyrotation.com/ as my news feed. It gives a list of many tech-related feeds, but you can add your own RSS or ATOM feeds as well. It has a choice of 5-15 headlines per site and a few other tweaks.

Re: 1by1 V1.68 (Tiny Audio Players)

The gem I've been using for at least a decade is SysTrayPlay, written in 2001, and appears to be portable

It can still be found at Snapfiles (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/stpmp3.html) and is 204k long, and to me is more intuitive and easy to use than 1by1, if you like a minimalist interface.

Re: ImageMagick - command line image conversion

For trimming whitespace from PDFs, especially for eReaders, I use Briss
https://briss.en.softonic.com/, a java-based pdf-cropper that can handle odd-even pages

It is GPL, java-based, and from my look at the registry, portable.

Re: Portable flowchart list

Thanks for re-adding Eve. For those to whom it is new, a good interactive tutorial is in the file EVEIntro.eve, which comes with the application. I went for a couple of years before I had to go to the web site for the Eve Manual.
