Nothing in the Registry, but I installed, moved and uninstalled and it still writes to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\PySolFC.

I registered SoftMaker Office 2006 (the free version) and that gave me the possibility to register version 2008 for only EUR 24.99 (US$ 32.99). Without that registration of the free version the price would have been EUR 69.95 (US$ 79.95). SoftMaker Office 2008 is portable too (but not free).

No, and yes. I tried, and you still need to use your password.

But I don't know any other image viewer that has the ability to show zipped images without unpacking them.

You could try Portable StartMenu (TPFC= http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=1365 ) Extract Portable StartMenu to a folder on the usb stick and build the menu. The launcher shows an icon in the tray and it will automatically compensate for dynamic drive letters. You can even build an autorun to start...

PopMan 1.3

PopMan 1.3 (http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=577) is not beta anymore. The new version can be downloaded as an EXE and extracted with Universal Extractor, but there is also a ZIP archive that includes the empty INI-file for portability.

To Schumi: It seems that this is the same prog as Atomic Clock, but with much fewer functions. There is no alarm, no calendar, no time zones or time syncronization. Some skins, but essentially nothing more.

To MarcoNovaro: Yes, they are, but under the new header "Digital Clock", and a click on the image opens "http://www.drive-software.com/atomicalarmclock.html".

I'm afraid that the "easy" answer is that the look you want belongs to another program, Atomic Alarm Clock , http://www.drive-software.com/atomicalarmclock.html But Atomic Alarm Clock isn't freeware ($29:95), it creates an autostart and it writes an ini to Documents and Settings\ ... \Appl...

As I couldn't extract the new version 2008 with Universal Extractor, I tried another method. 1. I started the setup and waited for all files to be extracted. 2. When the new setup window appeared (asking where to install), I opened Windows Explorer and in C:\Documents and Settings\my_user_name\...\T...

The Word and texts from Zefania XML Project

I had a problem with texts from Zefania XML Project, for example the Swedish bible version from 1917. Those files need to be converted with The Word Importer, that won't run portable. The only solution I found was to download and standard install The Word beta version 3 and The Word Importer. Then I...

Very nice app indeed. I moved it via my USB stick to another computer and can't find any trace of it after using it there. Tonight (until nine o'clock this morning) I made a very comprehensive "What to do in the garden" in it, with lots of crosslinking and pictures. It totally wrecked my b...

RoboForm2Go

I'm not absolutely sure that RoboForm2Go is strictly portable, but I've been testing it for a while after an installation directly to my USB memory. I can't find any traces from RoboForm on the computer I then moved the USB memory to; not in the registry and not in Documents and settings. http://www...

Thanks. I didn't saw that. Btw I had a discussion with the author last night. He appears to regard the result I get as impossible (or very strange), but the comments on Disk Redactor show that I'm not the only one...

Or is it Recuva that "recovers" files that has never been deleted? I tried again, first with Disk Redactor and then with Recuva. Recuva recovered 1862 files, but most of them was already present, visible and fully functional on the drive.
