I use fat32format regularly, works fine from usb too. As a linux & M$ user i find that fat 32 (or vfat) is nicely ubiquitous. the 750gb seagate usb drive i recently bought for work came formatted with fat32 and is fine. I think the partition limit is much bigger than any single drive anyway. my ...
