Re: DropIt

This entire process is long, complicated, tedious, and repetitive. Can anyone walk me through what to do, what's possible, and how to do it? I actually wouldn't try to solve this using DropIt, I'd go for a batch function with the following command line tools. Just paste the commands into a text fil...

Re: CLI Database - Beta 2

I'm a bit slow on the reply here but just to come back to this ... After much consideration, I am suggesting we fold the CLI entries into the main database. I think that's very reasonable. I definitely understand not wanting to maintain two databases separately and I think those proposed items make ...

Re: Removing Windows 95/98/ME?

There are still 32-bit PCs, namely Intel Atom CPUs that run Windows 10. Very interesting. I guess there must be some substantial power differences to make them hang onto that. --- Update : I found a post that indicates that Win10 32-bit is on it's way out: https://www.engadget.com/windows-10-32-bit...

Re: Arcsoft Photostudio

1) "FREEWARE" ? : You can have PhotoStudio for free because it is also bundled with the EPSON scanner drivers I think that's probably more classed as a value-add, kind of like if you got a copy of Vegas with a fancy camcorder. It's not really freeware, it's just that some of your money went towards...

Re: Removing Windows 95/98/ME?

Just four days shy of 10 years after I originally posted about old Windows versions: a project I really like talking about intentionally dropping 32-bit: https://www.zettlr.com/post/discontinuing-32-bit ... I'm not sure if this unfortunate or way overdue, but I think other projects are going to foll...

Re: My system setup: Truecrypt and VMware

I'd like very much to come back to this and do a proper full update on how my setup has changed in the last 5 years, but one very key thing that's changed is doing almost everything I do nowadays is via remote desktop. I have my main machine and a separate testing machine stashed in a closet that I ...

Re: UltraSearch

As DocFetcher seems to be having issues, I've been trying to make a go of UltraSearch and it's content search feature. I still prefer Everything for its ease of search, but the ability to search inside office file types is hard to beat and I'm trying to avoid multiple, overlapping tools running at o...

Re: Firewall App blocker (Fab)

Just a note here that it's possible to block ALL EXE files in batch/recursively inside a given folder. I did this recently for a group of old programs that I didn't want to connect to the Internet.

I believe AnyDesk has gone payware and I'm ready to move the topic to the appropriate forum -- let me know if you disagree.
Softpedia appears to corroborate that idea so yeah, I'm comfortable with that.

Re: Sandboxie becomes free

sandboxie is not even working for me now. Do you guys know any good alternatives? I've had a lot of luck with Win10's own built-in Sandbox. It doesn't have anti-virus and it doesn't restrict network access but that's not hard to enable at startup. I've been very pleased that I can run an environmen...

A couple of options for cropping PDF files, none of which is perfect for all needs, and all are awkward, to say the least.
Thanks for the info -- since we're posting to this thread, how do those compare to the PDFArranger?
