Re: Why Portable Freeware?

In light of the fact that my work here was instrumental in me getting my most recent gig, I decided to more broadly list out how my volunteer work here has helped in my career. I realize some of this may not be useful in your workplace or industry, but they've definitely been a boon to my own. Abili...

Re: Freeware presentation tools

It's taken me quite a while to get back to this topic so I'll just share the tools I had on my list to dig into the next time I came back to it ... --- Slidelab - An Electron presentation tool - probably not portable but still might be worth it just because there are no pptx alternatives right now. ...

Re: Linux Sucks 2021

It's like a blog post stretched out into a 44 min diatribe. Skip ahead to 32:16 for a summary, but you may want to bump up the video speed on YouTube because this guy is verbose . Despite the length, I did enjoy how the caveats were more interesting than the overall message. For example that his car...

Portscan & stuff - speed test, network search, port scan

From the maker of my favorite PDF printer "Doro," and the excellent Homedale , Portscan & Stuff covers a lot of network operations you didn't know you needed. Find all active devices on your network. Discover the ip address and available services for each network device. Run a speed test to check yo...

Ksnip still in active development at v1.9.0 https://github.com/ksnip/ksnip/releases … lots of good changes. Overall a nice interface, some innovative elements, and definitely unique.

Status: Not Portable. Still writes to registry.

Re: is there a file manager that let me tag files and folder ?

I found another tagging file manager: https://tabbles.net/ -- claims to have a portable version right on the homepage. Unfortunately, the free version has quite a few limits: https://tabbles.net/buy-tabbles/ ... but this is clearly the most mature and feature-rich option tool I've seen.

Most recent version: https://download.fenrir.co.jp/FenrirFS2 ... -setup.exe Thanks for that ... the version I tested about 1.5 yrs ago was 2.4.9 (the same version that Softpedia appears to be hosting) but what's up on their website is listed as 2.6.4. So evidently it's still in development. Sadly, ...
