ToDoList is a hierarchical task manager that allows you to repeatedly sub-divide your tasks into more manageable pieces, which makes it ideal for IT-related projects as well as more general activities. Each task can be given a wide variety of attributes including priority, risk, color, category, and many more. Viewable in tree, list, or calendar format, and includes native XML support for custom reporting.

Created lists can be exported to a variety of formats including HTML, ICS (calendar), speadsheet, and more. Supports remote todolists and encryption for security.

Awesome product! Absolutely. Tried so many of its kind but once I came to know of ToDoList and started using it, that was it. Easy, versatile and a plethora of features. Loved it. Loving it. Will always love it. Hats off to its author, ever.

@ smaragdus: Thanks I really hate to have to sign in or open an account just to download a freeware app. I find this to be a very good and useful program which does everything I want it to do... what a concept :) thanks for the hard work the maker of this software endured, it is greatly appreciated.

i.Scribe is an email client with an integrated contact database and calendar, supporting SMTP, POP3 and IMAP4. Security features include Bayesian spam filter, HTML controls, and attachment protection.

Cross-platform with clients available for Mac and Linux. Note that the program is limited to one email account and 5 user-defined filters, which are available in it's commercial version.

Very light and fast, but it didn't want to send my mails. Maybe it's because of not so much to set in account settings.

A stable version 1.90 seems to be available as well as a 2.00 beta. However, somewhere in the 1.90 changelog it says that it writes to the registry.

I am using this for almost an year and I recommend this software to everybody.
It's really easy to use and has good enough no. of features.

Here is one trick - minimize it to tray and right-click on the icon. It will show the latest recipient's email id's.

v7.1 is a huge improvement over 7.0 I'd recommend trying it out now, and most importantly going over to the EPIM support forums and joining in in the suggestion thread even if you just use the free version causally every voice is counting. If there is enough demand we may be able to get the attachment system and contact systems back to a more usable state.

General warning:
Databases used with 7.2 are not compatible with v7.13 or earlier.

As the free version is mostly used around here I doubt this next warning is really needed but just in case. V7.2 shipped with a bug in the networking system that makes it impossible to use the business edition networking feature with user accounts. At the time it is strongly advised to avoid updating to version 7.2 if you use the business/network edition.

MSD Organizer Freeware is an personal information organizer that includes a wide variety of modules. These include a phone book, todo list, calendar with reminder function, password manager, foreign currency support, word processor, calculator, import/export capabilities, etc.

Note: The free version does not include password protection, password encryption, Google sync, history manager, advanced filter, network messenger, and news.

Note: Settings will only be written to the application folder if the application files are located on a removable drive. Otherwise, settings will be written to the user profile folder.

Installed on my harddrive and tested the portable version again, under Windows 7 64 bit.
Settings and data are now written in the application folder.
The user profile folder contains an empty folder C:\Users\my_name\AppData\Roaming\MSD_Soft

MSD Organizer uses the folder I mentioned (C:\Users\my_name\AppData\Roaming\MSD_Soft)for temp files.
The files in that folder are deleted on exit.

It doesn't even run and hangs if you don't allow it to connect to the Internet (at least the first time). Tried three times and dumped it for good after about one minute.
