@ misan: If you klick on the little "?"-icon behind "Stealth" ...

What makes an application "stealth"?

For the purpose for this website, "stealth" means when an application is launched, used and terminated properly, it does not leave behind any entries in the registry or filesystem. Certain exceptions are permitted. For example, registry entries that are created/updated by Windows for the application (eg. MRU entries for dialog boxes, DirectX entries for DirectX-based apps), or temp files created in the official "Temp" folders are not taken into consideration. Note: "Stealth" does not mean non-traceability! In fact, it is quite unlikely you can hide your activities on a Windows machine from a capable system administrator.

"Added ability to create video playlists."
This just became useful again.

Now I can load every episode of "The Amazing World of Gumball" all at once...very nice :)

@kinki: as noted in the, please post about possible malware issues to the forums. I would also check the download with VirusTotal first. As winLAME is open source and has been in development for 4+ yrs, it's probably a false positive.

Thanks. Ok, two problems for me with the software.

1. There is no sound at all. No problems with all other players on my comp, but this one no sound at all.

2. If I add a folder of MP3 files it adds the files ok, but if I use the option to add a file, the interface flickers and does nothing. I try again, flickers, then after a few seconds crashes.

I`m on Win 10 64Bit.

oggdropXPd v1.9.2

  • 2MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 7 Jul 2020

oggdropXPd is a simple, drag-and-drop encoder and decoder that converts WAV files to the open "Ogg Vorbis" format or visa-versa. The program includes auto-tagging, renaming of encoded files, setting of advanced encoder parameters, use of VorbisGain tags on decode, playlist (.m3u) creation, and others. Encoding options can be configured by right-clicking on the program window.

It will also uncompress Ogg Vorbis into WAV files. The program can encode from Monkey's Audio (APE), FLAC, LPAC, OptimFROG (OFR) but requires extracting the various DLLs (see website) to the application folder.

When I encode recorded audio, I always put it in OGG format just because its smaller than MP3 but I still know I'll be able to find a player for it (not so with other formats). I use this program at its lowest setting. Works great.

M3U Dropper v0.741

billon on 14 Oct 2016
  • 532KB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 6 Oct 2012
  • Suggested by flector

M3U Dropper creates, imports, and organizes playlist files that take selections from an audio/video collection and put them in an order of your choice. This is useful for example in creating a mix of songs or videos with a specific mood or purpose. As the name suggests, the program creates M3U files which are used in most software players (Winamp, Foobar, Songbird, etc.) and many hardware players (including the iPod). Can also output to and import from other playlist formats including M3U8, PLS, and WPL.

Although other programs can generate playlist files, M3U Dropper uses a more portable method of relative pathways.

Category:
Runs on:WinNT / Win2K / WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Win10
Writes settings to: Application folder
Stealth: ? Yes
Unicode support: Yes
License: LGPL v3
How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch M3U Dropper.exe.
What's new?
  • Bug Fixed: Right clicking and exploring a file works as intended when the filename has an internal comma or is on a \\server.
  • https:// is no longer stripped from filenames when links are dropped from browsers.
  • Added F8 as a hotkey for "Clear Config File".
  • When config (*.m3udrop) files are saved to the same drive as M3U Dropper.exe, all references to the file are relative.

@Magibon

Burrrn_Portable < This seems like a bit of overkill, Burrrn is and always has been 100% portable and stealth (as far as I'm concerned).

The entry (Cygnus Solutions) left in the registry is created by the Cygwin POSIX Emulation Layer (cygwin1.dll) called from cdrdao.exe (CD-R Disk-At-Once) and is left empty.

I have other programs that also use this emulation layer and leave that exact registry key (empty).

So, is Burrrn stealth? Well if you consider stealth to not leaving traces of yourself, then yes.

Any files other than WAV, e.g. APE, FLAC, MP3 get decompressed to WAV in the 'temp' directory, so making the 'temp' directory relative to Burrrn's folder would cause excessive writes to your flash/portable drive (Average CD ~ 600 - 700 MB).

tandavad on 2011-12-13 07:12

Does burning a mixed mode audio CD with Burrrn require having a Disc drive that can write CD-Text. My burner is an Optiarc DVD+RW AD 7580S. According to the Nero Info Tool, it can read CD-Text, but it is not clear if it can also write CD-Text. Also, can Burrrn create an audio CD with album cover image (jpg) as well as text (track and album information).

Magibon on 2011-12-13 14:31

UPDATE: deleted the NSIS launcher i had posted that took care of the registry keys.. etc.

Here's an updated PAF launcher:

@ tandavad
for CD-Text support.. your Drive has to have the capability. I use Exact Audio Copy which does support CD-Text.. not sure about Burrrn.

RandomFill v1.0.0.1

  • Suggested by Wolfghost

RandomFill randomizes the collection of MP3s to be sent your portable player or software media player. It's most powerful feature is the ability to assign weights to folders: you can set some folders to be often selected from, rarely selected from, or ignored.

The program looks for MP3s in recursively scanned folders and/or M3U playlists, and either copies them for downloading into your portable player, or creates a playlist for your software player. The number of MP3s selected can be set to either a maximum size of them or a maximum playing time.
