@billon
Why are you cutting the actual version number off? OutWiker is at version 1.9.0.790, not 1.9.0, pay attention to what "About" says. I disagree with this practice of yours!

billon on 2016-07-22 01:31

For simplicity, easier versions tracking for visitors, author himself calls it even shortly: "Current version - 1.9", previous versions ware "1.8.0.750" and "1.8.1.752", next will be something like "1.9.1.xxx", so last three digits doesn't really matter, especially for common users, only, may be, for beta testers and purists (i don't call them autists)

Even with outwiker.ini not stealth: creates folder "enchant" in AppData/roaming/

@billon: 32-bit download still gives you v1.07 !

Checker on 2015-10-30 20:09

@DarkShadow: That's why I presently didn't update to v1.08 ;)

billon on 2015-10-30 22:13

@DarkShadow & Checker: 64-bit too, but files changed 30.10.2015 and bigger in size, so look like Nir Sofer just forget to update version number

SmartSniff v2.26

billon on 20 Jul 2016
  • 134KB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 19 Jul 2016
  • Suggested by milentechie

SmartSniff is a network analysis/dignostic tool that allows you to capture TCP/IP packets that pass through your network adapter. You can view the captured data as sequence of conversations between clients and servers in ASCII mode (for text-based protocols, like HTTP, SMTP, POP3 and FTP) or as hex dump (for non text-based protocols, like DNS).

On Win2K or above, SmartSniff is able to capture TCP/IP packets using raw sockets. This method has some limitations and problems, but it does not require any additional installation. A better way to capture TCP/IP packets is to install the open-source WinPcap capture driver, functional on Windows 98 and later.

Category:
System Requirements: Win98 / WinME / WinNT / Win2K / WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Win10
Writes settings to: Application folder
Dependencies: Administrator rights
Stealth: ? Yes
License: Freeware
How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch smsniff.exe.

Optionally, add IPToCountry.csv in the same directory as SmartSniff to show the Country of origin for each IP address.
What's new?
  • SmartSniff now:
    • Automatically loads the new version of WinPCap driver from https://nmap.org/npcap/ if it's installed on your system.
    • Tries to load the dll of Network Monitor Driver 3.x (NmApi.dll) according to the installation path specified in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Netmon3. This change should solve the problem with loading the Network Monitor Driver 3.x on some systems.

There is a more recent version of Wireshark (portable)

Kermode on 2011-08-30 23:14

@Zadadka
No I'm not - a portable program is one that doesn't install files.

@SnowStorm:
It still isn't portable since it wants to install WinPCap

bzl333 on 2013-03-13 02:53

@kermode - it works on raw sockets in winXP SP3, so it is portable for some users at least.

UltraSearch v2.1.2

billon on 19 Jul 2016
  • 6MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 19 Jul 2016
  • Suggested by guinness

UltraSearch searches thousands of files almost instantly. File name searches narrow as they are typed, as well as with wildcards such as "*.exe". Additional information like file size and last change date are present, as well as access to Explorer's own context menu. You can exclude folders, files, or file-types by providing an "exclude" filter and results can be exported as text, RTF, HTML, CSV and Excel file, or printed.

The program works with NTFS-formatted drives to search without needing to first create an index. The program works directly with a feature of the file system called the Master File Table to give results on thousands of files in moments.

Dependencies: Administrator rights, NTFS file system, at least 900x480 screen resolution.

  • The drive list can also be expanded via right-click now.
Bugfixes:
  • It is now easier to see that the drive list can be expanded.
  • Searches on virtual hard disks resulted in an error in some cases. This problem has been solved.
  • A minor problem occurring when minimizing UltraSearch to the system tray via shortcut has been fixed.
  • Numerous other bugfixes have been implemented.

Should there be one?

Nh on 2014-12-20 06:05

v2.0 does not save settings (no entries are made in Settings.xml).

joby_toss on 2014-12-20 11:14

I think you're right. Let's hope is just a bug that's gonna be fixed in the next version.
