@Checker, haha. It might be a good idea to change the link seeing as the main site has been down for a while.

According to the About box of my Numculator install the latest version is actually 3.0.156, but maybe I'm missing what you mean.

Checker on 2015-08-05 20:58

@ Specular: Oops, you are right - I was following a wrong link (not joby_toss's).
BTW: It's v3.0.0.156 (not v3.0.156) ;)
So it was indeed a nice way to introduce a version update - thanks ... and updated ;)
Links set to Softpedia.

'Program about' says: v3.0.156
'Numculator.exe about' says: v3.0.0.156 ... strange!
I changed the database entry back to v3.0.156 (according program about and Softpedia's entry).

TorChat v0.9.9.553

smaragdus on 19 Jun 2017
  • 9MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 15 Sep 2012
  • Suggested by garbanzo

TorChat is a basic, text-only instant messaging client focused on security and anonymity. It includes availability (away, lunch, etc), optional profile, and avatar. The program requires almost no setup: just share your randomly-generated username (e.g. "bkmworoidjwxz5l") to other TorChat users. These are easily created and discarded to help maintain anonymity.

The program uses the Tor network's hidden services feature to send messages between peers with authentication and encryption based on public key exchange.

Also available for Linux.

NOTE: TorChat has been out of development for some time and connection may require additional steps. Ricochet is an attempted replacement.

System requirements: Win95 / Win98 / WinME / WinNT / Win2K / WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8
Writes settings to: Application folder
Stealth: ? Yes
Path portability: Automatic relative path (eg. ..\..\personal\work.doc)
License: GNU GPL v3
How to extract:
  1. Download the ZIP package and extract to a temporary folder
  2. Move files located in bin to a folder of your choice
  3. Launch torchat.exe
Similar/alternative apps: Ricochet, Pidgin (with available encryption plugins)

TorChat author has moved the project page.

+++ Feb-05, 2012: This project has been moved to github +++
Further development of TorChat will continue at github, effective immediately. I have not yet decided what should happen to this project page and repository here at googlecode, for now I will just leave it as it is and just not update it any longer, I will mark all downloads as deprecated and eventually remove the project page, close the issue tracker and maybe even commit an rm -rf to the svn repository.

May be it is worth to update the links.

I like user interface, but TreeCopy do not copy my file or folder.

shnbwmn on 2015-12-07 09:34

According to the website, it also works on Win 7 and 8. I'm hesitant to use it on Win 10 since it says "TreeCopy will only work successfully on these specific Windows operating systems:", and then doesn't list Win 10.

shnbwmn on 2015-12-07 09:36

To Gawran: those non-techs such as myself would rather use a larger, "clumsy" program with a GUI than fiddle with commands.

This might be nice if it had colour syntax highlighting for the different regex elements. What *IS* good about this simple tester is that, unlike Expresso, it will test PCRE.

Billo255 on 2016-10-18 04:38

Just an FYI - Tried a couple times to download and then tried to access the authors website and got a Connection Timed Out and Problem Loading Page errors. Don't know if it's a permanant thing. Poked around and found version 1.4 on Softpedia. Also found on SharewareJunction but SJ redirects to so got the same time out error.

Billo255 on 2016-10-21 23:26

Okay. Looks like the site is accessible again. It's magic. But why is a 2006 app being marked as new on PF. Was it just recently discovered? Just a curiosity question.
