thanks guys :)

The 64 bit zip file is misnamed on the server. There is a space between 64 and .zip, so the functioning link will be http://tp.lc.ehu.es/anonym/win95/drcmp350-64 .zip (Or the author can correct the naming error)

USBFlashCopy v1.11

webfork on 27 Jun 2015
  • 288KB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 26 Jun 2015
  • Suggested by guinness

USBFlashCopy backs up/synchronizes from external storage on the fly. The program runs in the background and copies all or select files from inserted media to a destination of your choice. Includes available copy throttle speed, minimum free space check to avoid filling up your drive, file filters, and can even be set to only copy from selected drives (by serial number).

New drives plugged in are prompted for a new copy profile and transfers include a progress bar. Ideal for people who do much of their work on remote computers and need to automate the process of backing up their files.

Functional in 64-bit. Note that fully transparent operations (no user notification; runs entirely in background) are only available in the registered version.

Bvckup 2 v68 (beta)

webfork on 19 May 2018
  • 589KB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 31 Dec 2014
  • Suggested by Midas

Bvckup 2 is a backup/synchronization tool that uses "delta" copy methods, meaning it only transfers changes to a file or files rather than recopying the entire set. This is frequently faster, saves bandwidth for network backups and can help flash media live longer by reducing the overall number of disk writes. The program can do real-time, periodic or manual backups, and also functions as a file copier that can pause and resume both local and network transfers.

Note: this program is an unsupported beta, meaning that the author provides a commercial version of the program that includes support. A previous, freeware version with fewer features is available from bvckup.com.

Category:
System Requirements: WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Win10
Writes settings to: Application folder
Unicode support: Yes
License: Freeware (unsupported beta)
How to extract:
  1. Download the setup program according to your OS and install with defaults
  2. Copy bvckup2.exe to a folder of your choice
  3. Uninstall program
  4. Create an empty text file in this folder with the following content:

    SET conf-dir="%~dp0Config"
    START "" bvckup2.exe -c %conf-dir%

  5. Rename the text file bvckup2-portable.bat
  6. Launch bvckup2-portable.bat
  7. Under Options - Preferences - Software updates, select "Don't check don't remind" as this program will always suggest downloading the latest version, which is not freeware.

Note: Over time that the contents of the "Config" can grow to substantial size. If it grows too large for your storage device, start a new profile and delete the old folder.

@Vacherin: Thanks: I'll check those out and update the instructions if Billon doesn't beat me to it.

Thanks for following up on this. I hope that giving away the old unsupported beta has helped gather attention for your program. It's definitely helped me.

PAFuser on 2018-05-16 11:15

I let bvckup2 do an update, version 1.0+beta updated, but it started with a temporary 1 hour license. Back to 0.68 from backup I have.

webfork on 2018-05-19 11:39

@PAFuser thanks for that, updating entry

AutoVer v2.2.1

Checker on 1 Jan 2016
  • 1MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 28 Apr 2014
  • Suggested by I am Baas

AutoVer is a highly configurable automatic or real-time backup and personal versioning system. The program can be used as a simple copy/sync tool or as a more complex, transparent version control system (like a realtime incremental backup) where every time you save a file it is copied to your backup folder, drive or FTP server. Supports filters, compression, and more.

Great for backing up/synchronizing your work or home documents to flash memory or saving every change you make to your text, source code, images, etc.

Supports 64-bit.

  • Fixed: Long file name support on source drive when copying to FTP.
  • Fixed: Fixed bug in file and folder exclude filter.
  • Change: If running outside of the Program File folder (portable mode), store config files locally if possible (otherwise use CommonApplicationData).

Easy to setup and use. By default, backs up automatically on file save. This can be changed to a timed backup in options. Very handy tool when working on critical files.

webfork on 2018-06-23 15:06

Outstanding program. I've been using this for 5 years now and it's the absolute best. Any changes I make get immediately saved with a specific date to a separate drive on my machine, preventing both loss from user error and drive failure. One of a few programs that lets me sleep better at night.

hamasaki on 2018-06-23 18:22

I`ll have to try this again. In the past, it either hasn`t written any changes or it kept crashing.
