R-Undelete Home v6.6.175721

billon on 18 Feb 2020
  • 57MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 17 Feb 2020
  • Suggested by pplknownothin

R-Undelete recovers files from external USB disks, digital photo and video camera memory cards and other devices with the FAT (FAT12, FAT16, FAT32 and exFAT) file system. In addition, it also uses the scan for known file types, which makes R-Undelete an ideal solution for the recovery of lost digital photos, movies and music.

Note: the majority of Windows storage solutions use NTFS and ReFS, which can only be recovered with the pro version.

From their website: R-Undelete run in the free Home mode has no limitations for recovery from FAT partitions and also allows you to evaluate how the software recovers lost files from the NTFS file system, for which it has a limitation to recover files larger than 64KB. [filelist] can be previewed to estimate recovery chances before you upgrade the Home version for recovery from NTFS partitions

Seems that recovery from NTFS costs money and thus makes this application almost useless today.

I finally said to myself "Duuuuuuuuuuuuuh" ;)
Why am I wasting my time with downloading this app realising that this app is useless from a freeware point of view.
My above comment on 2017-08-25 20:17--that version never got
downloaded & I have ceased wasting my time.
I don't know for a fact that this app has always been so restrictive because I came in late on finding this app.
Perhaps if there's an earlier version for Vista that someone knows about, thats less restrictive, maybe you could share that with us.
Have a nice weekend everyone.

Guido76 on 2018-06-28 02:26

I agree Happy.Camper2's comment.
This software have a huge limitation as a freeware, and it is a wasting time to try it.
Please, stop to promote this apps !

@Midas I only tried the screenshot feature, and it did not create HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RtColorPicker or any other registry entry.

@ripu: thanks for reporting.

webfork on 2018-06-23 14:09

I just need to say again, good god this has a ton of features. It's far from smooth or intuitive, but if you do a lot with screenshots, you should get acquainted with what this can do.

Would be nice if it had an option to not search subfolders.

@kiwichick It does!

Absolutely excellent program that saved a ton of room on my hard drive, clearing out duplicates as well as several multiple-size images from an earlier effort to compress some really big photos. The best part is how it automatically sees two photos that are already very similar and helps you pick the better one to archive. There were only one or two false-positives in a batch of hundreds (a concert picture somehow got paired with a painting of Mozart).

This is by FAR the ABSOLUTE BEST recovery software I've ever used. I do wish that it had a window interface... but it just recovered files that would've taken me 2 hours to recreate. Fantastic. (By the way... I tried 3 other favorites including RECUVA before using this. None of them worked. This did. I think RECUVA probably would've worked with a deep scan, but I don't have the 2 hours to sit and wait for that hope!)

The functionality of this Photorec *free* program is great. The fact that it is free is even better. I've tried it, I like it, i will use it again and I WILL DONATE (honest guv). Fair is fair. Good Karma.
