Perhaps Just Manager became public too late as it is unlikely to see any new releases in the future. At least billon, Checker and SYSTEM will be spared the effort to update the entry. Although labelled Alpha, Just Manager seems to be very stable and the built-in FTP client works fine.

Great for bare bones Windows PE, it runs without any dependencies, it seems, very useful in x64, too bad it's not supported anymore...

What's new?
  • Fixed painting bug with the Path Bar.
  • Added ability to send an ISO file to Windows Disk Image Burner. Don't know why, unless it is because I never remember it is in the context menu. Sadly, need Windows 7 and up to use. Under File menu.
  • Added ability to create an ISO image from a data CD. Under File menu. Works on XP and up. Does not create ISO images of audio cd.
  • Fixed bug in Drive toolbar refreshing incorrectly.
  • Added the ability to open Registry Editor to a qualified key. This was something I needed and if others find useful we will try to enhance it. Under Tools menu. Just type in or paste a key and hopefully regedit will open to the key. Example: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft
  • Removed the status bar at the bottom. Hints now shown in the title bar. Panel in file view will open on zip operations.
  • Fixed the No Row Color for the Browse for Folder dialog not working.
  • Change to language.ini.

There are a lot of great ways to compress files and folders quickly and easily, but most people are only familiar with ZIP. PeaExtractor's broad support means that it frees us up to send the latest and best compression formats without wondering if the recipient will have difficulty opening it.

XYplorer has a strange support for unicode - it can manipulate files with unicode characters (In particular, Georgian unicode characters) in their filenames, i.e. it can show, copy, move, delete, etc. them, but when I try to rename a file, it writes just "question marks" instead of characters.

And this applies to both free and paid versions.

bawldiggle on 2019-12-15 03:03

Unfortunately free version is so old it has not kept pace with PRO.
v17.40.0100 PRO did not have GUI customization, where as current PRO does.
Options are an eye watering 975 settings
MenuBar Menus are sooo long they dont fit on my 23" monitor
The original developer does not know how to "hide" irrelevant menu-items,
to minimize user shock

freakazoid on 2019-12-16 04:18

@bawldiggle AFAIK, XYPlorer doesn't have a free version anymore. The developer stopped supporting it awhile ago. All efforts now are to the PRO version.

Guido76 on 2016-10-04 07:21

Probably a great tool, but .. how to get a .txt file of my bookmarks, furthermore, compatible with this software ...? I searched a lot, but I have not yet found the solution with Firefox: I only get a .json files... Or build itself the file with a text editor ? then you no longer need myFavs!

vmars316 on 2017-01-07 19:01

curly: now has 32 bit myFavs.exe & source
Guido76: You can just create a new myFavsLinks.txt with notepad . But be sure to
use the delimeter [ ] after each field: MenuName[]LinkDescription[]LinkAddress[] & also read the Help . But the best and safe way is to just add your links to myStarterLinks.txt example file . Then save it as (whatever) Guido76Links.txt .
Thanks

@PAFuser: it's unfortunate what some people think is obsolete. There are a whole lot of very old programs on my machine that still do a way better job than available alternatives.

PAFuser on 2017-06-29 19:30

I do not disagree, I still use Excel 2003, and it took some work to get it to work correctly on Windows 10 - 64 bit. If program is all you need and works, great. SE-Explorer zip contains SE-MediaPlayer, does not work. Context menu limited to SE-Explorer list, unlike FreeCommanderXE, etc. which include context items added to Windows menu. Future development might have changed this.

Blowfish Advanced CS is a easy to use encryption and disk wipe program, removing the extra step of typing in a password every time you view an encrypted file. Instead, the program caches the key and allows the dynamic viewing of encrypted files, renamed to a .BFA extension. To view, open them inside the Blowfish Advanced CS file manager or drag-and-drop them into the program window. Note that edits are not dynamically encrypted to the same location. Files must be decrypted and then edited.

The program includes a variety of security options including use of a key disk, a time-out for available decryption, multiple algorithms including Blowfish (default), AES, Twofish, Serpent, etc., multiple file / empty disk space shredding options, and more. Compression options are also available.

This seems to be confirmation of my exact statement previous regarding starting in German and having NO SETTINGS.

Re: The trick, YES I noticed how to change to English MY POINT was it ALWAYS STARTS in German. (Just in case you missed that.)

So unless someone can show me that it will save the English setting I will assume that as I surmised it is standard behavior and I am still right.
