This doesn't seem quite ready for prime time yet. The website claims you can change font colors - a good idea, since the default color on my XP machine is dark grey on black. But there doesn't seem to be any way to do this from the menu, and no documentation to help with that.

The mind mapper comes up when I press F7 ... but there are invisilbe icons at the top of the screen (they highlight, but nothing happens.) The 6th icon on that list comes up with an error message: parse error 1,1.

Finally, there's no apparent way to turn off the TRULY annoying typewriter sound with each keypress.

Looking forward to seeing it when it's polished up.

No spell check other than highlighting words it thinks are misspelled as you type. Auto-corrects words with mixed case with no option (that I could see) to turn that off, making it impossible to type custom names and terms. Doesn't let you enter custom font sizes.

Might be ok for knocking out the occasional note, but falls ridiculously short of being considered a real word processor.

It seems that the "additional dictionaries" on www.addictivesoftware.com will do it. At least German spellchecking seems to work.

Download the desired dictionary, unpack and put the adm-file in the Addict directory of Angel Writer. But now you have to do a trick: Rename your adm-file to English.adm (perhaps make a backup of the original adm-file). After the next start Angel-writer checks your native spelling, not perfect but ...

It is possible to configure the Addict spellchecker to some degree by editing the registry.
E.g. with these settings, a 2nd main dictionary ("german_alt.adm") is added.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Angelic Software\AngelWriter\Addict]
"_Main_count"="2"
"_Main_0"="English.adm"
"_Main_1"="german_alt.adm"

In theory, this could be also possible with a file called "Spell.cfg" containing the same strings as the registry. Then again, I couldn't get it to work this way.
As a 2nd note, the exe is packed with UPX and can be unpacked with e.g. FUU (Free Universal Unpacker). In the unpacked exe, you can rename "Times New Roman" to e.g. "Calibri" to change the default font.

One word: abandonware -- wish someone would take it up to iron the tiny niggles it still has... It would then be absolutely perfect!

You can now download a .zip of Q10 from the site & not have to mess around with the .paf file.

A Pretty good, basic editor, doesn't handle images but if you need an RTF editor this one's o.k.
Don't expect too much and make sure you download the utilities.

CopyWriter has a new web page- http://www.laurenzvangaalen.nl/software/copywriter.htm
