This looks like a potentially useful app, but I'd never trust a 'removal tool' that didn't allow a 'scan and report' option first. You have no idea what this is going to do to a PC when you press the 'Start' Button! |

Brosix connects to ICQ, Google Talk, MSN and Facebook networks , but cannot connect to Jabber and Yahoo. Has anyone experienced this connection problem with Jabber and Yahoo?

Really impressed by this program. The various features, especially co-browsing, whiteboard, and and are unique, easy and effective. I preferred the interface over Skype and other similar messenger tools. |
VirusTotal Windows Uploader provides a quick and easy way to submit a suspect file to VirusTotal.com for scanning by multiple anti-virus engines. You can check active processes, individual files, or specific URLs.
For more convenient (right-click) access, its shortcut can be added to Windows' SendTo menu.

From the website: “DISCONTINUED SUPPORT For Windows uploader: As of 2017 we are discontinuing any updates to the official windows uploader (Please see the VirusTotalUploader [https://github.com/SamuelTulach/VirusTotalUploader/releases] for an alternative, 3rd party open source uploader)” |
PC Decrapifier helps you remove many of the common trialware and crapware found installed by default on many of the PCs from big name OEMs. Toolbars, anti-virus and other trials, and many other tools that make money for the laptop makers, but just take up space on your computer without providing value. The program lets you check off items to be removed.
Note: this program has been discontinued.

It has an optional anti-virus/spyware feature to check an EXE against its hash signature for changes and/or tampering before launch.

That is a good hint 1way. But is there a trick to make it launch a web address?

Sure Homer. For portability I use Browzar for private trackless surfing, put this in your .bat file: browzar http://www.1way.ws If you want to use Internet Explorer use: "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" http://www.1way.ws (I'm using XP, if you use a different OS adjust the path to IE accordingly, the downside is the link then becomes OS dependent.)

Thanks 1way. It works well provided that the browser is in Porta'Menu's foder. |
BFilter is a filtering web proxy originally intended for removing banner ads only, but since then its capabilities have been greatly extended. It detects web ads "heuristically," or similar to modern anti-virus software, as opposed to using blacklists, resulting in much more consistent behavior.
Note: Configuring a portable browser to use BFilter works flawlessly as long as BFilter is running, though it is not recommended to do this with a browser on the host computer. Configuration instructions can be found here.

to find out if it worked, just disable it, and then goto whatsmy.net and see what your ip is, and then reactivate it, and then goback to whatsmy.net and see if your ip changed, if it did, it worked.

Banshee: by definition only a REMOTE proxy server would change your IP. |
