For v2.5.0: I don't think civclient.exe is present anymore and it should now be freeciv-gtk2.cmd or freeciv-gtk2.exe which would start the game.

Apparently UniExtract got into an infinite loop when I tried to extract the installer. I have edited the instructions a bit.

Would someone please update the extract instructions? Thanks.

I downloaded both GTK and SDL versions of freeciv 2.2.2 from the website, downloaded the inosetup files you listed in the extract page and installed those, tried to portablise freeciv, the $_OUTDIR could not be found in either windows explorer of freecommander portable.

Does the computer have to be restarted after adding the innosetup files to universal extractor to work?

By the way, the version of freeciv you list is out of date and can not be downloaded for windows on the linked website either.

Didn't make it very far into the program -- you need a number pad to move units and I'm using a laptop. You can't make due with a mouse for some reason. Also the interface is still really clunky and strange even after they really beautified the icons and landscape.

All OK ... except that it writes savegames elsewhere!

Tried the SDL version.
And that one works, so if you would make i clear that one has to use the SDL version, some frustration would be avoided.
