Remora USB File Guard is designed to be run from a USB drive and performs file encryption and compression. It sits in the system tray and restores to a full size window that represents virtual storage that you can customize by creating folders. You can use the "Import" function to add files to the virtual storage, which will be encrypted and optionally compressed. Similarly, you can decrypt files using the "Export" function.

Note: The behaviour of the application is a little misleading. You can drag-and-drop files from Windows Explorer into the virtual storage, but the files will only be copied without encryption. To encrypt files, you need to use the "Import" function. Thanks to Dave Woolnough for the information.

Runs on:Win2K / WinXP
Writes settings to: Application folder
Stealth: ? Yes
Unicode support: No
License: Freeware
How to extract:
  1. Download the installer and extract to a folder of your choice.
  2. The application files are in the {app} folder.
  3. Launch usbguard.exe.

I tried both Remora products. (i can't recall which version) but I had difficulty in getting either of them to work consistently. Unfortunate as I had such high hopes for them.

Softpedia will inform you that the program is up to version 2.0, but unfortunately the download link is just to the original page(s), and thus presently invalid. Looks like 1.9 will have to suffice?
