WizTree is a very fast disk space analyzer and search tool, scanning a single folder or your entire hard drive quickly and showing those files and folders using the most disk space. The program uses the NTFS Master File Table (MFT) feature in Windows to rapidly view files.

Note that this high-speed mode is limited to local, NTFS-formatted drives. The program must do a (much slower) scan of FAT-formatted or network drives for analysis.

Very fast launching and scanning. Took about 20 secs to scan 80GB HD in XP.

There seems to be no going back to other great drive space testers after using this. While others programs on the site have cool visualizations and neat features (two of them listed above in the "Similar apps" area, but the speed with which it analyzes even enormous drives is just too nice.

Also love how it deletes folders (just crossing it out). The only negative (if it's even a negative) is that the directory sizing doesn't change dynamically. So if you go in and manage a few files, the view doesn't change. You have to rescan.

WizTree 3.0 released 31-AUG-2017

TPFC 32-bit and 64-bit download links point to the same distribution package:
wiztree_3_00_portable.zip

This package includes two distinct PE's:
• wiztree64.exe
• wiztree.exe

Pick your PE wisely...;-)

Also, note the zip package folder structure has changed from a flat hierarchy in the previous versions,
to a 4-level hierarchy in the current one:

WizTree64.exe
locale
locale\en
locale\en\LC_MESSAGES
locale\en\LC_MESSAGES\default.mo
locale\en\LC_MESSAGES\default.po
locale\How to Translate WizTree.txt
license.txt
WizTree.exe

Lastly, note the developer forgot to update Wiztree's internal version tags:
(from: Sigcheck v2.30 - File version and signature viewer)

c:\wiztree\WizTree.exe:

  Binary Version: 1.0.0.0

c:\wiztree\WizTree64.exe:

Is it possible to set the font size ? Bit small for my not-so-young eyes.

Any dependencies ? .NET, VC etc.

Would gladly switch from treesize free to this.

@gbrao

Wiztree font size change:
No obvious font parameters selection provided by the developer.

If you feel adventurous, you might want to try your hand at a bit of wiztree.exe plastic surgery, courtesy ResourceHacker ;-)

I've e-mailed the dev. Lets see...

v3.12

gbrao 2017-10-06 15:15

From the dev :
"It's not possible to set the font size at the moment. You could try
using Windows text size scaling to scale everything up on your PC.

The exe doesn't have any dependencies - it should run on any version of
windows."
