@CoinDoubler: MeshEditor isn't portable (saves settings to %LOCALAPPDATA%); apart from that, it's a very basic DotNET text editor, there are plenty of other choices. Great homepage, though. :)

I have found mesh editor to be decent. It is still in beta though.

If you want small startup time, good one is CudaText, starts fast, less exe size.

@bitcoin: if you're looking to minimize editor memory footprint, take a look at the likes of AkelPad, editor2 & win32pad. Also, take a look at this forum topic: https://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22061 ...

i set this as default text editor thru Q-Dir and was wondering why it was taking so long to startup. Then i see its ~240 MB even after stripping out the Win32 folder while Notepad++ is only 15 MB

Just for completion: not stealth, leaves a folder "CEF" in AppData/Local/ behind - has something to do with dictionaries (disabling the auto correction does not help)

I used UPX to bring the size down to about 70MB, but I haven't fully tested the functionality afterwards...

I Just hope this excellent editor won't go from "complete" to "bloated" and from lots of MB to fews of GB in size :)
