Crashes a lot, and pieces of windows get "left behind" over the interface, like the chat text and then slowly scrolls out of view. Very bad.

Asterisk on 2010-06-24 16:23

This is 37mb for two reasons: a) it is a GTK app and includes the full GTK runtimes in the package, and B) it contains full localization for dozens of languages.

Removing the localizations and UPXing the GTK runtimes should bring this down to a fraction of its size.

if u can bear with screen flickering & some slow responses .. u've find the best free irc client (DCC+1) @least in my opinion

It doesn't support UTF-8, despite it's "multilingual" inferface (which apparently was created with machine translations).

Emka on 2011-12-24 19:02

The website wants you to complete a survey or download games before you can download the application. Very bad style...

webfork on 2011-12-24 20:41

Emka: thanks for pointing that out.

Writes settings to: Application Folder

How to extract: Download the zip package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch the program by double-clicking Dana.exe.

Windows 7 defender springs in to action as soon as you download this, saying its a dangerous program which should be deleted. This is both the zip and exe versions.

Kermode on 2011-02-12 21:54

Also warning is McAfee, Avg, Sophos, Symantec and Trendmicro.
This is for version 1.4 of the program btw.

Cattleya on 2011-10-16 19:26

It's safe, but without Unicode support, a chat software almost useless.
Anyone have a anternative ? I really want a portable IRC Software with file size smaller than 1MB, also support Unicode(very important).
