XMedia Recode is an audio/video converter for most popular formats and includes handy profiles for popular mobile/tablet devices such as iPod, iPhone, Samsung, SonyEricsson, Zune, PSP, Blackberry, LG etc. These profiles include file format, screen size and other details chosen specifically for a given player.

winLAME is an encoder for many commonly used audio formats, including extraction from CDs. The program lets you set up the encoding process with an easy-to-use wizard-style user interface and supports both batch processing and multiple audio files.

Formats include WAV, MP3, FLAC, Monkey's Audio, OGG, Opus and many more. The program supports the creation of playlists (M3U, PLS and CUE) and ID3 tags (metadata).

winLAME Portable is a modified version of winLame for portability.

CUETools helps ensure an album image is preserved accurately by managing lossless audio and CUE sheet format conversion. Since many applications don't keep track of preserving gaps and CUE sheet contents during conversion, or don't support all possible CUE sheet styles, CUETools preserves both with no loss in quality.

CUETools includes CUERipper, an extremely powerful yet easy-to-use CD ripping program, with features like lossless and lossy encoding options, EAC style logs, automatic metadata look-up and AccurateRip verification.

LameXP is an audio encoding and conversion program with a skinnable, drag-and-drop interface. The program can edit metadata, create an automatic playlist file, and modify audio with multi-threaded batch processing tools for normalization and tone adjustment.

The program supports a wide variety of formats and quality settings. Although named for one of its popular encoders (the LAME MP3 encoder), the program can also export to OGG, Opus, FLAC, AC3, APE, WAV and DCA.

It can also convert from a wide variety of formats, including MP3, OGG, FLAC, MP4/AAC, AC3,, DTS, WavPack, Musepack, TTA, Speex, Monkey's Audio, Shorten, WMA, Opus and more. MP4/AAC encoding is available via an external download (Nero AAC/QAAC).

fre:ac (pronounced "freak") is a feature-rich audio tool set featuring audio encoding and conversion, CD ripper, playlist and metadata editor. The program supports most popular audio formats such as MP3, M4A, WMA, OGG and FLAC, as well as support for a long list of additional converters such as Quicktime and Shorten. For CDs, the program supports reliable conversion (CD Paranoia), online databases (CDDB/GNUdb) and CDText, automatically writing song information metadata. The program is optimized for multi-core systems, making conversions as fast as possible.

Cross-platform (Mac, Linux, FreeBSD). Available in many world languages. Alternatively, fre:ac Portable automatically adjusts paths.

Pazera's Software Free Audio Video Pack is a collection of video and audio converters that help convert between a wide variety of common audio and video formats. The package also includes applications that allows you to extract audio tracks from CD images based on the CUE sheets, as well as an audio extractor that lets you take just the audio from a video file.

Supported video outputs include AVI, MPEG, MP4, MOV, WMV, FLV, MKV, M4V and 3GP and audio formats include MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV, AAC, AC3, and FLAC. Many of the programs act as a front-end for FFmpeg.

Pazera Free Audio Extractor takes the audio from most major video files without loss of sound quality or converts them to a variety of common audio formats. The program can also behave as a simple conversion tool from one audio format to another (e.g. AAC to MP3).

Some supported formats include (audio) MP3, AAC, AC3, WMA, M4A, FLAC, OGG, WAV, ALAC, WavPack, AIFF; (video) AVI, FLV, MP4, MPG, MOV, RM, 3GP, WMV, VOB, MKV, WebM and OGV.

Note: By default, the program will extract/convert to MP3. Select "Try extract original audio stream" to avoid re-encoding, which is faster but may result in a format that some devices can't read. The program has a number of predefined settings (profiles) specially designed for novice users, but you can also customize audio encoding and output parameters.

QWinFF can convert audio and video files into other formats. It includes a rich set of presets and allows advanced users to adjust conversion parameters like bitrate and sample rate in detail. The program is an interface for the powerful, command-line FFmpeg.

Note that you can add other media formats for conversion in the presets.xml file, including images and other formats that FFmpeg can handle.

File Blender is a simple drag-and-drop file media file conversion tool to quickly and simply change basic aspects of files including format, with basic quality and effects that average users will need for daily use. Can modify a long list of image, audio, and video formats, as well as split/combine PDF/TIFF files.

The program even includes optional encryption component and options to cleanup/obfuscate CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.

TEncoder is a video and audio tool with conversion, DVD ripping and website downloading features. The converter includes the ability to select between multiple audio and subtitle tracks, extract audio/video content from a file, or edit subtitle and audio delays. Subtitles with same name as the video can be hard-coded into video. The download tool includes a variety of available formats, batch download capability, audio only downloads and on-completion conversion.

Includes multi-threaded optimizations for simultaneous encoding and supports skins to change the program look and feel. Output video codecs include: MP1, MP2, Xvid, Mpeg4, H264, FLV, WMV, VP8 and more; audio codecs: MP3, WAV, Opus, OGG, AC3 and more. The program uses a variety of different open source tools including MEncoder, MPlayer, youtube-dl and FFMpeg.

Alternatively, X-TEncoder is also available.

oggdropXPd is a simple, drag-and-drop encoder and decoder that converts WAV files to the open "Ogg Vorbis" format or visa-versa. The program includes auto-tagging, renaming of encoded files, setting of advanced encoder parameters, use of VorbisGain tags on decode, playlist (.m3u) creation, and others. Encoding options can be configured by right-clicking on the program window.

It will also uncompress Ogg Vorbis into WAV files. The program can encode from Monkey's Audio (APE), FLAC, LPAC, OptimFROG (OFR) but requires extracting the various DLLs (see website) to the application folder.

TAudioConverter is an advanced, multi-threaded audio converter and extractor. The program can convert between most popular audio formats as well as extract audio streams from video files. Effects to audio streams include trimming, volume change, normalization, guard against clipping, sampling and channels (mono, stereo, 5.1).

Alternatively, TAudioConverter Portable automatically switches between 32-bit and 64-bit and adjusts paths.

lamedropXPd encodes WAV files to the MP3 format and vice versa, transcodes OGG and FLAC, and auto-tags files via a drag-and-drop interface. Options can be configured by right-clicking on the program window.

PowerEnc is a fast, light-weight audio encoder/decoder for a variety of formats or from a CD. The program supports a variety of metadata formats (ID3), CD database analysis, and a variety of different audio format quality settings.

Formats include WAV, FLAC, MP3, OGG, APE, AAC, etc.

AoA Audio Extractor allows you to extract audio/sound or background music from video files. It supports extraction from AVI, MPEG, MPG, FLV (Flash Video), DAT, WMV, MOV, MP4, 3GP video files and exporting the audio as MP3, WAV and AC3 audio files. It can also be used to save any portion of the audio of a video file.
