@Cornflower: Seems like the 32-bit ZIP is also available now. I have updated both download links.

Also note that virtually every new release updates some plugins, and version 4.65 is no exception. Most users may want to go to https://www.irfanview.com/plugins.htm and download the 32- or 64-bit package, and dump them into the Irfanview Plugins subdirectory.

I notice in 4.67 that the OCR plugin is updated. It suggests using the Tesseract OCR, which I suspect is not portable. When I test it I will be looking to see if it can be made portable, and if it works with 32-bit Irfanview (there are a number of limitations with the 64-bit Irfanview so I am staying there).

Doesn`t work half the time, keeps saying the epub file is corrupt. Yet, they open in Sumatra and just about any other epub viewer with no issues.

Anyone know security-wise if this is still worth using? It's now been more than two years without an update and I wonder what the risk to using it is, vs say Adobe Reader with its never-ending vulnerabilities.

@Specular: I think if you're asking a question like that, it's probably wise to use an updated viewer. There have been a few PDF vulnerabilities over the past year, but I think you have to enable various Adobe-only extras that I don't think STDU has in it's program.

This is the fastest PDF viewer. Awesome for high graphics magagine kind of PDFs. I have a lower mid range laptop. Universal viewer throws sumatra, pdfxcange, foxit out of water when it comes to speed of loading one after another high graphics page. And it's the lightest of all the PDF viewers I have tested, uses minimal CPU unlike others I have mentioned.

Ignore my previous comment. I am an idiot. It actually uses an old version of Sumatra, which was faster and lighter.

take care, thumbnail database is not big enough, optimisation of thumbnail database will clear most thumbs. resizing thumbnails will clear all database so using Tag section is completly useless. (tags are saved on thumbnail database)

I fully agree with Miklo, having used FastStone for several years, I really like it: does everything I want almost intuitively.I still use version 6.4 . Tried to use the last version 7.6 but reversed to the previous one because in the last release there is a bug in the Multi-Page File Builder to created an Animated GIF (Alt+M):. the resulting GIF file shows only the first 2 loaded images then stops.

I use it since W98. Very easy copy/paste/crop/resize/scan/print/sharpness and many other things.
Dont have a pen/filler. Not a full img editor but very easy and has many options.
Fully work is done with xnview, mspaint(for pen) and PaintDotNet for layers.(except for the layers that xnview does not have, everything is easier with xnview)

XnView is not Windows XP compatible anymore. In order to make it work with XP, replace libwebp.dll (plugin folder) with with webp.dll (xnview.com/download/plugins/webp.zip).

Unzip and run cPicture.exe (It seems that it is a no install app)
This application is very fast.
It leaves a couple of keys in the registry.

The cPicture v.3.8.6 and cPicture LE v1.6.x seem to be developed by the same developer(s).

cPicture now at version 3.8.8 and it is freeware/donationware.

It would be perfect if it supported EXIF.

@smaragdus, EXIF metadata (rotation at least) is a planned feature, judging by the Github issues page.

If any devs out are there feel like adding support for it I'm also sure the author would welcome it :)

Since version 1.5.0 Pictus offers EXIF orientation support! ;)
By the way the latest version is 1.5.1.
