Tiny Hexer Small Edition is a minimal hex editor for binary files with an intuitive interface. The program features multiple file edition, the ability to edit sectors of the disk or other media including flash memory on drivers drive or digital camera. The program can change the virtual memory of other processes and open files up to 2 GB.
The "Small Edition" was originally developed for BartPE as a version that requires fewer system libraries and can operate on minimal dependencies.

Holy Cow!! I thought this was totally not developed anymore since it was last updated in 2003!! It's great to see some sort of update especially since I have been using it since 2004.

XVI32 has scripts and XVIscript editor, but HxD has not (yet) these features. Please look inside HxD forum http://forum.mh-nexus.de/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=196

^ Opened up a 4 GB file. Editing/saving changes was possible; albeit saving was little slow the first time - after that saving is instantaneous. I am even able fill parts with random data, thus manually destroying the file. I haven't found anything else that could do such a thing. Notepad++, and others choke on such a huge file. I know there's other hex editors but this one satisfies. |
Hex-Ed is a quite small and efficient Hex Editor for programmers.

The download link does not work - it points to a tripod.com account where the download is not available. I tried Softpedia where Niels Horn lists Softpedia endorsement but they also point back to tripod. I searched google and found Tucows has it, but an older version 1.00.01 http://www.tucows.com/start_dl/318712_120318_245

81KB. I don't know why I love these small proggies so much. Anyhow, this editor works great. It is not polished, but it certainly works. Good call, AlephX. |
