@Midas: Thank you! That was the solution. Right click - Properties - Unblock. I think this program is a keeper.

Who cares for all the glitter effects that can hog memory. It's real use is to organize screen clutter which it does very well. The biggest feature for me is having multiple desktops with different icons and wallpaper, screensavers, etc. Of course that's just one of many features available. Simply put one of the best virtual desktop managers around. My only complaint is that it requires admin rights.

I like YOD'm but deskspace is cool, in that... they fix things YOD'm was lacking (6 sides making a complete cube, faster rotation, a background BEHIND the cube, etc) But yod'm is good for free ... Unless you need more then 4 desktops :-P

Hi, in my work, I run a lot of batch actions in Photoshop to process images for web. While the batch process ran, I wasn't able to do nothing with my computer because Photoshop kept jumping with images being resized.

Well not anymore, thanks to Yod'm 3D, I was able to switch desktops and leave Photshop doing its business while I did something else.

I hope this tip is helpful to someone who uses this kind of batch processing.

Cheers!

This is very cool looking but the effects get pretty old fast and it's no longer free. Those who prefer efficiency should checkout other desktop managers listed on this site.

be careful with this one! i accidentally assigned a hotkey that conflicted with one used by my file manager. when i hit the key to switch desktops, bosskey crashed, and i couldn't for the life of me get back to my other desktops, where unsaved work was calling to me. i lost an hour of writing because of this program...

"i accidentally assigned a hotkey that conflicted with one used by my file manager"

@jameson I think you would do better to be careful when assigning hotkeys

Use this application:ActiveHotkeys
