  • Released on 27 Jan 2018
  • Suggested by pplknownothin

FastCopy is a file copy and synchronization tool with a variety of available extras. It uses different strategies (multi-threading, buffering) to help ensure maximum device throughput, as well as optional verification to make sure data is transferred correctly. It does not use the system cache, so other processes do not get bogged down during the copy process and a speed setting is also available, including pause. It supports Unix-style include/exclude wildcards filters.

Alternatively, PortableApps' FastCopy Portable is also available.

System Requirements: WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Win10
Writes settings to: Application folder
Stealth: ? Yes
Unicode support: Yes
License: GNU GPLv3
How to extract: Download the "Installer" ZIP package based on your OS (32bit or 64bit) and extract FastCopy.exe and FastCopy.chm to a folder of your choice. Launch FastCopy.exe.

@ripu: I misunderstood your question - I'd recommend Dsynchronize http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=719 with "Ask before replacing files" checked, though it won't help with the rename element.

Good program and stable operation. Recently tested this again on XP. Really fast scanning and updating of big folders with thousands of files. A 16GB folder with over 100k files took about 95 seconds to update (only a few kBs needed updating). A complete copy of 14GB took about 10mins, but still significantly faster than many other apps or Windows built-in copy.

Still the best Notepad replacement for me. Opening a 30MB+ TXT file will bring down almost any text editor to its knees and doing it on a regular basis can be a frustrating and time-wasting exercise. But EditPad hardly even noticed the file size, opens them as fast, if not faster, than another text editor opening a 1KB file.

Its not the 'lightest', but its no memory hog either. The UI certainly needs some updating, but it gets the job done and does it well consistently and for me that's what counts.

EditPadLite also includes a noteworthy (but rarely implemented) function
to search for and HIGHLIGHT simultaneously ALL occurrences of a search string.
