40tude Dialog was (its homepage is available only via Internet Archive) a multi-server, multi-threaded email/newsreader with Unicode character support. It supports multiple servers (POP3/NNTP) and identities, has filtering/scoring support, integrated email functionality and binary support (including support for multiparts).

Functional on 64-bit systems.

How to extract:
  1. Download the 40tude Dialog 2.0.15.1 Installer, unzip, and then extract to a temporary folder
  2. The application is in the {app} folder
  3. Download Dialog.exe 2.0.15.84 update and extract to the same folder (replacing dialog.exe with an updated/newer version)
  4. Launch dialog.exe

Optionally, delete unnecessary language files (locale folder).

XPN (X Python Newsreader) is a Usenet newsreader with excellent MIME support. XPN can operate with charsets starting ranging from US-ASCII to UTF-8. When you edit an article, XPN automatically chooses the best charset. It also supports other useful features like scoring, filtered views, random tag-lines, one-key navigation, ROT13, spoiler char etc.

  • Download the "binary with GTK- win32" package and install to the default folder.
  • Copy all files (except unins000.exe and unins000.dat) to a folder of your choice.
