Unlocker Assistant helps unlock files locked by operating system permissions or other issues. The program automatically launches if you are trying to delete/rename/move a file that is locked. When not in use, it stays in your system tray bar. Additionally, individual locked files and folders may be drag-and-dropped onto unlocker.exe.
Alternatively, Unlocker Portable (beta) is a launcher-only version of Unlocker.

Is this still available? I clicked on the portable download from the website, which redirected me to a download site, which redirected me to another download site... about half a dozen sites later with no download in sight, one of them finally tried to get me to download and install a dodgy "Download Software Manager" app. I gave up at that point.

I don't understand why we find today this software which is always at the same version since 2013. The site of the designer even seems abandoned. Several links are broken (404 error). This doesn't take away anything from this excellent software, but it doesn't add anything new. |

I'm guessing you downloaded the source code zip file. If you click on the download link and go to the bottom of RC2 area, just above 2.0.0 RC1 you'll see "Assets", click on that and then the top download "UniExtractRC2.zip". |

DriveCleanup removes all currently non present "Storage Volumes", "Disk", "CDROM", "Floppy" USB drives and their USB devices from the device tree. Furthermore it removes orphaned registry items related to these device types. Both are not removed by similar programs on the site and take up space on the registry, eventually slow down a computer over time.
To preview program actions, start with argument -T (test mode).
A 64-bit version is available (within the folder).

Prefer NetSpeedMonitor, available: https://download.cnet.com/s/netspeedmonitor-64-bit/ 32-bit on same page, but no longer available on developer's site. Provides numerical up/down info on toolbar. May not be portable, but is quite small 1.26 MB. Have used for years. |

IPNetInfo is a small utility that allows you to easily find all available information about an IP address: the owner of the IP address, the country/state name, IP addresses range, contact information (address, phone, fax and email) and more. This utility can be very useful for finding the origin of unsolicited mail.
Optionally, add CurrPorts to the same directory to resolve information of the remote IP address via the right-click context menu.

I really like this simple program. I used it first to hide/disable a corrupted Magic ISO contextual menu in mere seconds. Then later on I learned about some features of Explorer that could be turned off using this program, so I did that. It worked both times without any problems. I like that you can undo the changes too if you like. Good program. Thanks for updating this.

Love this program, recently had the dreaded explorer crash and this program allowed me to easily identify the culprit, and a uninstall/reinstall of the offending (acronis) software fixed my issue. Would have spent an eternity without this software. Should be part of Windoze. |
