As I far as I can tell moonedit is the only portable/standalone collaborative editor you can find. Others I've found require runtimes (gtk, bonjour, java) to be installed.. so in short, this is the one.

Although MoonEdit was abandoned long time ago, it still works fine on Windows 8 and one of its funniest and nicest aspects is that it can be used as a messenger.

Only 20 bytes? Now that's what I call a lightweight program. ;-)

Andrew Lee on 2006-05-30 22:50

Sorry! My typo. It should be 20KB.

Dariusz Stanislawek is the king of lightweight portable (encryption)freeware! although i don't use cryptnote very often, it is of the same calibre as his other creations!
check out his page on the other products. http://members.ozemail.com.au/~nulifetv/freezip/freeware/ Stanislawek is truly a programming genius!
