I confirm that *fang-face* is right- the extraction of the latest version of ImgBurn (2.5.8.0) with Universal Extractor version 1.6.1 or with 7-Zip version 9.20 doesn't create any '$INSTDIR' directory.

Holy Cow!! I thought this was totally not developed anymore since it was last updated in 2003!! It's great to see some sort of update especially since I have been using it since 2004.

SFXMaker is an automation tool for unattended software installations, also known as switchless installers or silent installs. This program especially ideal for those who use nLite, as it adds the option of creating an installer for nLite in the GUI.
There are also more recent versions of SFXMaker, but they require administator rights.

@shaka - I don't think it likes the user agent for WebVersions (or WGET for that matter), a web proxy seems to work:

PStart is an easy-to-use system tray program launcher with a hierarchical list of menus for launching applications and documents, much like the Windows "Start" menu. Includes support for drag-and-drop program management, customizable look and feel, program auto and scheduled start, search, and much more.
Unlike many other launchers, PStart automatically uses relative paths when adding applications and documents, so portability is automatically preserved when changing drive letters as long as the applications and documents are located in the same drive as PStart.
Note: 64-bit OS users may wish to use this in a compatibility mode.

The program does indeed have minor problems on Win7: I frequently have to restart in order to get to the "Panel" view. Based on developer activity to date, we are unlikely to see an update to fix this.

The best launcher I've never used. It works very well in Windows 10, and only in 769KB. |
