The 3rd option is useful for e-reader that can view the inside of zip files. Many text and document files will collapse to 1/2 of their original size (or more), so running this program on all your ebooks can effectively double the available space on your device.

List Numberer v1.1.0

webfork on 22 Jul 2012

List Numberer allows you to create a text number listing in various customizable ways. The program is useful for automatically numbering lists where Word and many other programs only create number systems according to predefined formats.

Choose starting number, customizable increments (e.g. 1, 2, 3; 1, 3, 5; 1, 4, 7), prefixes and suffixes to numbers (e.g. A-1, 2B, etc.), and the ability to strip leading numbers (for already numbered lists that need to be fixed), restart numbering for blank lines, and more.

When creating a numbered list, most text editors are remarkably short on intelligent options and manual entry isn't an option. Although it doesn't support any advanced formatting that other programs use, text-only means it works for every editor and not just Word / Wordpad.

Drop Zone v1.0.3

webfork on 22 Jul 2012
  • 1MB (uncompressed)
  • Suggested by Checker

Drop Zone creates simple windows to quickly manage files. After dropping files or folders onto the program window, a menu of paths you've configured will pop up, allowing you to quickly copy or move files to those destinations. Useful for users who deal with many small files or have a short list of frequent folder destinations.

To create multiple drop zones, simply make copies of the DropZone.exe and rename them to something unique (e.g. DropZone1.exe, DropZone2.exe, etc.). The program supports multiple instances so each drop zone can be configured independently.

Can't you do this with right-click dragging a folder to the desktop and "create shortcut"?

Erkhyan on 2012-01-20 08:21

Awoodby> …and by manually reconfiguring every single one of your shortcuts every time you switch computers?

Ah, right, very good point, that IS handy, to make quick links to your storage folders. You can make a folder on the thumb drive "sort_folder", then make shortcuts to folders within that, then put a shortcut to "sort_folder", but not as easy as this app. Good job in finding an app to make that's somewhat original these days.

ActiveXHelper v1.12

ActiveXHelper allows you to view essential information about ActiveX components installed on your computer. You can view the entire and very large list of ActiveX components by loading it from the registry key (HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID) or alternatively display only the ActiveX components that you specify.

In addition, you can temporarily disable specific ActiveX components so they cannot be used by any software until you enable them again.

FreeMat is an interpreted, matrix-oriented development environment for engineering and scientific
applications, similar to the commercial(expensive)package: MATLAB.

There are free clones of MATLAB available (totally legal and free) and can be downloaded from the web,
one of my favorites are FreeMat.
FreeMat is a free open source numerical computing environment and programming language,
similar to MATLAB and GNU Octave, is available for multiple operating systems, Windows, Linux and Mac
An advantage of Freemat is the convenient mechanism of loading shared libraries written by other
language (it features a codeless interface to external C, C++, and Fortran code)
