billon on 9 Jan 2021
  • 668KB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 9 Jan 2021

TCP Optimizer provides an easy way to optimize Windows' networking parameters. The developers tried to take into account all related RFCs, the Microsoft TCP/IP implementation oddities and verify that only the necessary Registry parameters were changed.

Category:
Runs on:Win95 / Win98 / WinME / WinNT / Win2K / WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Win10
Writes settings to: Windows registry. But given the nature of the application, I think it can be accepted as portable.

Once upon a time this pgm. was great and very useful, but for the last few windoze OS it didn't seem to help at least when I used it. I don't wanna say anything bad about this pgm. cuz I have no doubt that for many, many OS systems it is a real game changer and will greatly improve system speed and performance.

I've updated the entry. Since the changelog is only available in German I tried to translate it for our purposes, but I'm not sure to what extent my translation is correct...

zorro on 2016-06-13 18:10

It should be mentioned, that eToolz requires NET3.5 - I think since version 3. It does NOT run on Windows 8 and higher with the integrated NET 4+, if the optional NET3.5-package is not installed!

Last time I tried it, I was unable to redirect domains to 0.0.0.0 (an invalid IP, I know, but enabling much snappier redirection). Apart from that, it works well -- but there are other similar options.

@randy - well there is no way to spoof the mac address without
adding a networkaddress=spoofMAC to the registry.

@* It probably reports that because it could be used to cause DOS(denial of service) if your MAC is changed. Ie you are on lan and your internet access is based on your mac. If that is changed then you wouldnt be able to connect to the internet

Straight-forward but doesn't reset to original DNS. Still needs improvement.

Compared with this tool, I feel DNSJumper is more user-friendly and it also allows you to add custom DNS address, reset DNS address to original and test fastest DNS to use.
