I gave CSVed a try as well, and it feels even more sluggish then CSVFileView, maybe it's just the files I'm using, there about 200-300KB's in size with a few 700~KB's ones.

BGM on 2018-01-21 17:38

Any idea how to use commandline to open files with csvpad?

Doesn't "csvpad.exe myfile.csv" work? Ask for help in the forum topic...

Gwennel Doc v0.15

billon on 29 May 2018
  • 359KB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 23 Dec 2013
  • Suggested by Cornflower

Gwennel is a lightweight word processor that takes an innovative approach to formatting options by separating them into a tree-like structure. This is useful for handling long documents with clear, organized formatting tools or for users who wish to focus on the text first and formatting second. Any style changes (such as headings, lists, or colors) are propagated throughout the entire document and, although only able to open and save OpenDocument (.odt) files, this makes the program a capable WYSIWYG editor. Additionally, users can open existing files and make rapid changes to the entire document.

  • New Feature: basic find command.
  • Bug fix: use the text color of paragraph for bullets.
  • The executable is no longer packed with UPX because of all those crappy antivirus.

It is not at all intuitive, but once you play with it a bit, It comes together.
I probably won't use it on my own computers where Open Office Portable is much handier, but as I like to keep my usb key light, I keep it there. Hint: go over your Open Office documents and see what styles you like to use, and update the openoffice-style.gwen template. I found this makes it more user friendly, as I am dealing with my own tastes.

tpig on 2011-03-12 06:57

I've tested it. I does support Unicode.

From http://lenmus.blogspot.com.es/2014/07/lenmus-reaches-its-end.html:

"It is with my deepest regret that I have to announce the closure of the LenMus project.After a decade-long run, LenMus is no longer being developed. I began LenMus because I was studying music theory and needed interactive exercises for practicing. At that time (2002) there were no much free software for musicians and music students and I programmed some exercises, especially for ear training. I was soon attracted by the computational problems derived from the complexity of this domain. But world changes very fast and I alone can not do all and move as fast as this requires. I always failed in attracting more developers to the project and the result is that LenMus is increasingly lagging behind the increasing complexity of the project and the fast pace of changes on computers (notebooks, mobile phones), the web (HTML5 interactive applications), and the available teaching materials on the web (videos, free web schools). As I can not do it all alone, all development was stopped five months ago. Probably I will not to resume development again."

Latest stable version is 2.0_1, a release candidate for 2.1 and a beta for 2.2 are also available. Does extraction still work and make it portable?

Midas on 2014-03-06 15:42

The difference between (Uni)extraction and choosing portable with the installer is mainly the creation of an 'export' sub-folder and a 'binInst.ini' with the following content:

[Main]
CurrVersion=002.002.300.000
wxVersion=002.008.010.001
portableInstall=1

shnbwmn on 2018-04-08 01:38

It's true, "Trying it is adopting it!"

I finally got down to using this for interlinked notes and now I can't imagine going back to anything else. What really sets it apart is the on-the-fly nature of editing. OutWiker is a bit more advanced but it's tedious in comparison.

DMcsvEditor

This is a very poor excuse for a CSV utility..:-(

Takes ages (25 sec) to load a 2,000 rows csv file
Colum sort does get stuck, etc..
....and the current download link is broken anyway, probably for the better
(Softpedia still maintains a working link to the culprit, would anyone really insist...)

My advice: stay well clear of DMcsvEditor, and stick with the real McCoy's instead :

NirSofer's CSVFileView  https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2156

The current version of this (v2.4.2.431) isn't stealth; it leaves a bunch of registry keys (albeit all empty) at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\First Objective Software\foxe.
