Pazera Free Audio Extractor v2.4

billon on 5 Dec 2016
  • 13MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 3 Dec 2016
  • Suggested by jack

Pazera Free Audio Extractor takes the audio from most major video files without loss of sound quality or converts them to a variety of common audio formats. The program can also behave as a simple conversion tool from one audio format to another (e.g. AAC to MP3).

Some supported formats include (audio) MP3, AAC, AC3, WMA, M4A, FLAC, OGG, WAV, ALAC, WavPack, AIFF; (video) AVI, FLV, MP4, MPG, MOV, RM, 3GP, WMV, VOB, MKV, WebM, and OGV.

Note: By default, the program will extract/convert to MP3. Select "Try extract original audio stream" to avoid re-encoding. This is faster, but may result in a format some devices can't read. Additionally, the program has a number of predefined settings (profiles) specially designed for novice users. More advanced users can easily customize audio encoding parameters with output parameters.

CurrPorts v2.31 Updated

billon on 15 Feb 2017
  • 123KB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 15 Feb 2017
  • Suggested by Andrew Lee

CurrPorts displays the list of all currently opened networking ports on your local computer. For each TCP/IP and UDP port in the list, information about the process that opened the port is displayed, including the process name, full path of the process, version information of the process (product name, file description, and so on), the time that the process was created, and the user that created it.

In addition, CurrPorts allows you to close unwanted TCP connections, kill the process that opened the ports, and save the TCP/UDP ports information to HTML file , XML file, or to tab-delimited text file. The program will automatically mark with pink suspicious ports owned by unidentified applications (applications without version information and icons).

What this tool can that Mark Russinovich's TCPView can't do, I don't understand :?

I think that TCPView is better in any form.

I like this program. I recently used it to notice some suspicious looking port activities. I was able to close the ports down and then turn them to stealth using my firewall program. Then I used this program again and everything has looked normal ever since then. So I think this program may have helped me to stop some hackers or malware. All of my own internet activities and programs work normally so I really do think this program helped me stop something bad from happening.

Caffeine v1.63 Updated

billon on 20 Feb 2017

Caffeine prevents an automatic screensaver or going into standby/sleep/hibernate, useful for presentations or playing video. It works by simulating a keypress once every 59 seconds, so your PC thinks you're still working at the keyboard. Double-clicking the program icon "empties" the coffee pot and temporarily disables the program, while doing this a second time re-enables it.

Other command-line arguments for more functions are present on the web site.

System Requirements: WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Win10
Writes settings to: None
License: Freeware
How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch caffeine.exe.
What's new?
  • Icons updated slightly to show up better on a white background.

@Napiophelios: Likely won't work for WoW or any other network game produced after about 1999, because they look for game activity (positions and actions and other more clever things) for determining idle players, which has nothing to do with your computer sleeping or screensaving. Pressing F15 (which is what I assume this program does once per 59 seconds) has nothing to do with gameplay so it won't reset any idle timer on the server side.

This program is an epic failure. It failed to write the image to the disk, and it permanently corrupted my drive which now thinks it is a 1gb drive
