Now this great little utility saves it's settings in the local folder making it totally portable. THANK YOU, Nir !

MiDoJo on 2008-01-23 13:43

1.71 works for ie7 (even though nirsoft does not claim it) it also works for vista (with the caveat that you cannot get rid of the signature warning even if you unblock in the file properties) 1.70 Works with Vista/ie7/portably but does write some items to registry

You make a good point, AdrianK_IT, but it's probably too late to change the name. In the latest version, I added some commandline handling to make this application easily scriptable.

IEProxyToggle.exe -on
IEProxyToggle.exe -off
IEProxyToggle.exe -toggle

Thanks for the feedback. =]

Checker on 2012-07-30 17:31

@ skwire: Thanks for this good program.
The commandline mode is mentioned at "What's new >>"

AdrianK_IT on 2012-07-30 17:37

Actually, I have made a mistake in my previous comment; one needs to set Firefox etc to 'Auto-detect ... ' to keep the proxy settings in sync with the 'toggle' state. If one selects the 'Use system ... ' option while 'IE proxy enabled', access is blocked.
So you probably did get the name more right than wrong!
I have to say, discovering this program via the update posted here was total serendipity. I had just set up an OpenSSH server, and was experimenting with PuTTY Portable so I could create SSH tunnels to and through it; your app just made my life so much easier!

It should be pointed out that this tool only works on old versions of Opera (below version 15). Today Opera is based on the code of Chrome Web browser, so you should use ChromeCacheView, which also works with Windows 10.
