Audiobook Cutter splits large MP3 audiobook files into smaller ones without re-encoding. The split points are determined automatically based on silence detection. The split files are easier to use on mobile MP3 players because of their smaller size, and their duration allows smoother navigation.
Note: As recent versions have turned into nagware, I have made a copy of the last freeware version for direct download. Please email me if you have more recent freeware versions of the software.

Stick with version 0.75. It's really free. It ain't fancy, no bells and whistles, but it works. Version 1.4 demo is crippled and completely useless. BTW when you start up v0.75 answer "NO" when it asks you to upgrade!

I keep coming back to Deep Burner....I've tried so many others but why?Just for the aggravation,I guess.This one always comes through,once you know it's (very few!) settings.When it burns a disk ,I'm always sure it's not a coaster. |

q10 is a distraction-free, full screen writing environment (similar to Writeroom for OS X). Just you and a black screen to get your writing done without the distraction of menus, icons, etc. Includes a timer, spell check, and a customizable look. [Note: The version used for the size calculation was the version that includes the spell check]

RocketDock is a smoothly animated, alpha-blended program launcher that resembles the "dock" found in Mac OS X. It features a simple drag-and-drop interface, multi-monitor support, running application indicators, compatibility with most dock skin format, relative path support etc.
Though it's no longer maintained, its basic functions were tested to work on up to at least Windows 11.

PStart is an easy-to-use system tray program launcher with a hierarchical list of menus for launching applications and documents, much like the Windows "Start" menu. Includes support for drag-and-drop program management, customizable look and feel, program auto and scheduled start, search, and much more.
Unlike many other launchers, PStart automatically uses relative paths when adding applications and documents, so portability is automatically preserved when changing drive letters as long as the applications and documents are located in the same drive as PStart.
Note: 64-bit OS users may wish to use this in a compatibility mode.

The program does indeed have minor problems on Win7: I frequently have to restart in order to get to the "Panel" view. Based on developer activity to date, we are unlikely to see an update to fix this.

It allows you to capture anything on the screen including windows, objects, full screen, rectangle regions, freehand-selected regions and scrolling windows/web pages. Reported to function in Windows 7 and in Linux under WINE.

@jimdorey: I'm a little confused why we had a listing that this works with Win10 -- it really doesn't. When this version of the program stopped being developed, Win7 wasn't even out yet. Anyway, I recommend trying another software package for that OS. I've updated the entry.

@jimdorey: v5.3 works fine on my win 10 x64 using a 1080p screen resolution. Maybe you're using a high DPI screen/4k monitor, and only the last version (8.4, payware, but worth every penny) works fine in that case.
