I restored my win7 X64 computer to out-of-box state (pre sp1) and it still would not open the 64 bit xnconvert, so I'm guessing it needs the visual c++

Magibon on 2011-06-25 08:12

@ Zeke the Frog

Nope.. i installed Visual C++ on my system for Rainmeter.
still does not work for me.

i also tried adding the dependencies with no success.

Can't figure it out.
I just use the x32bit version.

RIOT (Radical Image Optimization Tool) v0.5.2

Checker on 11 Oct 2013

RIOT (Radical Image Optimization Tool) presents a before-and-after image compression view that allows you to reduce file size of an image into JPG, PNG, or GIF format. Includes optional metadata removal, batch operations, compression to a target file size, transparency options, and other common editing functions (flip, rotate, zoom, pan). Notable versus similar software in the ability to gradually reduce the available colors one-by-one (7, 8, 9, 10...), not just milestones of 16, 32, 64, etc.

The program is also available as a plugin for XnView, GIMP, or Irfanview (see website).

Functional in Linux using Wine. An old, unsupported version is available for earlier versions of Windows.

  • Fixed scrollbar flicker
  • Fixed loading of TGA 8-bit files with a palette size greater that 256
  • Fixed TIFF parser didn't initialize the memory with zeros in stripped mode. This caused random bitmap data if the tiff file was corrupted/invalid.

Nobody thought of File Blender! http://www.portablefreeware.com/launch.php?id=2026

Which DOES resize and DOES preserve the original format of each file (since it uses irfanview components), so basically it DOES what I need!

I even had it on my system and never thought of using it... I am such a moron!

(non need to add comments like "I second that"... Referring to the "moron part"... lol)

MIKLO on 2013-08-03 12:51

I've been using the FS Image viewer for some time and it is a very useful app that I use all the time, I hope to get the same usefulness from this new program. Thanks for the hard work.

@ MILKO: It was entered to the TPFC-database in January, 2007 ... so I won't call it a "new" program.
Maybe it's new to you ;)
