When I encode recorded audio, I always put it in OGG format just because its smaller than MP3 but I still know I'll be able to find a player for it (not so with other formats). I use this program at its lowest setting. Works great.

TAudioConverter 0.9.6 (0.9.6 Build 3774) has been just released.

BGM on 2014-08-22 14:50

Hey, if you all use the installer, be careful! It has some very subtle "other" stuff bundled in there. Make sure you read every panel. "Other" stuff includes "Search Protect" and "Trovi Search" which changes your search pages and home pages. PUSH SKIP. There is another one that tries to install (but I can't get it to do it after cancelling the installation once) and you have to push "disagree" in order not to install it.

Installer do not contain ads as of version 0.9.7.

Opps, my error. Didn't notice the response by @User that the problem was fixed as of V3.01.

Ancient Images on 2011-03-16 09:48

This and LameXP are my current favorite MP3 encoders.

lamedropXPd is nice to quickly encode a .wav to .mp3. You can also drop an .mp3 onto the program, and it'll transcode it to a .wav, which I thought was pretty clever. Simple tagging and encoding options are nice. Basically, if you find yourself routinely encoding in the same format--say if you run a podcast and frequently save shows at a certain bit rate--this is a fine solution for people who don't want to get bogged down in a lot of fancy details.

If you have problems with PowerEnc, it will be the best, if you contact the publisher. PowerEnc is working very fine on my machine :)

This is the best audio converter in the world! It is excellent the way it's set up - you can download more converters and add them to it. It's extremely fast, really easy to use, so many awesome options, batch list for multiple file processing, completely portable, and it's freeware!

I recommend Pazera Free Audio Extractor:
"Extract audio tracks from video files to MP3, AAC, AC3, WMA or WAV. AVI to MP3, FLV to MP3, AVI to WAV"
"This program doesn't use system registry and can be run from portable devices. All settings are written to INI file."

I second Harry.
Pazera Free Audio Extractor is better...
...and smaller too (3.5megs vs 12megs)
