juvera: there's a version with install/uninstall support but the other one should be portable... should we retest?

Ascend4nt on 2014-04-15 10:25

Its worth noting that this also finds and allows extraction of Audio files (since version 1.40). Very nice

This has been flagged as malware by AVG and other programs.

AdrianK_IT on 2012-05-05 13:30

This is one of the NirSoft utilities, and trustworthy. It is flagged as malware as it clearly can be used for malicious reasons ie extract passwords for nefarious purposes. However, it can also be used for good reasons ie extract passwords for recovery purposes etc!
I have learnt to temporarily disable 'real time protection' in AV software when downloading/moving/using these utilities.
I also use them as a simple test of AV software effectiveness; if it doesn't pick up these utilities as potentially malicious, then the AV software is clearly useless!

anyone got this working together with firefox portable? i read that it is possible when pointing to the profile folder but it just fails here.

Mozbackup no longer backups the address book in Thunderbird, the option is grayed out.

I would love a newer version to fix this issue, but it looks like this is abandonware now.

RightToolsForJob on 2021-05-31 21:25

More from my last post,
Just tried on another machine, and it is still working, even with option gray out.
So the first machine could have a corrupted setup.
So I will keep an eye on it, from now on.

Sorry if I missed the point .... but what is the point of this application?
In Firefox, use CTRL-J to display this information!

joby_toss on 2014-11-26 18:07

It's faster (and easier on resources) than starting FF and hitting Ctrl+J (for example when you're working with a different browser).

webfork on 2014-11-30 01:21

juvera: good question. I tried to come up with some possible uses.
