Version note: This program has not been updated since 2016 and may contain security vulnerabilities. Please see this entry for the latest version of Opera.
Opera (Presto) is a discontinued version of the Opera web browser, meaning feature development and maintenance for this version of Opera has ceased. Compared to the newer version based on Google Chrome, it features a leaner memory footprint, more user-interface customization, an RSS reader, integrated e-mail client, IRC chat, and native BitTorrent support. @billon mmm, it's odd. Just had a pop-up informing of a new version to download which is apparently v12.18 yet no official changelog has been released. |
Opera is a fast and secure web browser with tabbed, customizable interface. Features integrated searches, themes, device sync, mouse gestures, and built-in ad blocking. Also available is a service that includes a bookmarks and password sync along with an "off-road" mode that uses server-side compression to speed up browsing especially for low speed internet connections (account signup required). A variety of add-ons are available to extend functionality.
Based on Google Chrome, the program is available for Mac, Linux, Android and a variety of mobile phones and tablets. Opera v12 (Presto) is also available and includes many features not present in the newer version.

Like Opera, just wish it did not updates every week. Another today, never know what is updated, security, or unimportant.

Upgraded to 60, only 1 extension icon is visible. Does anyone know how to get them back? They can not be used when invisible.

Simple solution, download new installer, install to new location, add all extensions to Opera, change settings, import bookmarks. Easy upgrade, HA! |
WebBrowserPassView is a password recovery tool that reveals the passwords stored by Internet Explorer, Firefox-based and Chromium-based Web browsers. This tool can be used to recover your lost/forgotten password of any website, including popular Web sites, like Facebook, Yahoo, Google, and GMail, as long as the password is stored by your Web Browser.
Currently, WebBrowserPassView cannot retrieve the passwords if they are encrypted with a master password.
To work with Chrome and Opera portable versions, go to 'options' and set the location of the portable browser folder. Select the user data folder in Chrome, and wand.dat for Opera. (Thanks to user "deer".)

FBCacheView scans the cache of browsers on your system, listing all images displayed from viewed Facebook and Instagram pages. This includes profile pictures, images uploaded to Facebook, Instagram and images taken from other Web sites. For every Facebook and Instagram image, you can view the URL, Web browser that was used to visit the page, image type, date/time of the image, visit time, image file size and external URL (for images taken from another Web site).
Note: FBCacheView won't work if you configure your Web browser to clear the cache after closing it. Works with Internet Explorer, Mozilla-based Web browsers and Chrome-based Web browsers (excluding Opera).

This is an excellent idea. My college site won't allow images in html as it deletes them all. Everyone is amazed that I can create images in my postings--lots of ooohs and ahhhs.

I agree that this little app is completely useless, but it has a high prank value. Since resulting html file can be nicely compressed with 7zip (e.g. 4MB->10kB), one can create sfx 7zip installer that unpacks and opens that html in browser, and since everything hangs when opening table so big, poor victim can only wait for it to completely load and watch some idiotic picture in the meantime.

This program is useless for protecting images. But it's great for when you can't use images. HTML only web hosting services, for example. |

Doesn`t seem to work with Opera now as the portable version of Opera has no .addr file (as far as I can tell) and the bookmarks are stored in a 'Bookmarks' file which fails with Transmute Pro, which I did purchase btw. |
