RemoveWGA checks the Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications component that calls home and connects to Microsoft servers daily or every time you boot. The program tells you if the WGA notification tool is active on your system and helps you remove it from your system if required.

I was just asked by Symantec firewall whether I wanted to block WGA!! So yes!

A question more than a comment. Can the firewall be used to block the call? It seems that there are so few useful updates that you wouldn't have much to lose if you stopped communication with MS completely.
