DSynchronize lets you copy, move, or synchronize folders on your computer or over a network. The program can sync in both directions, making both folders up-to-date with the latest data, do real-time sync where any changes copied to destination and even verify it's transfers. The program can schedule operations, add timestamps to the destination folder and keep multiple backups (iterations).

If in use, the program can even eject a USB device when an operation is complete.

Warning: DSynchronize is meant for power users! By default the program does not send deleted files to the Recycle Bin, but are instead deleted outright. Use caution in initial sync tests with sensitive data.

@Whitelist: I recommend you post in forums about that. Short version: disconnect the drive that lost data until you're ready to test and look into data recovery programs such as Recuva.

Webfork: I had the same problem as sinchu. The program deleted around 500gbs of data overnight. Is there any way I could get this data back? I'm not super knowledgeable in IT but I have a general understanding of how things work. Is there a specific software I could use to get the data back since I don't have any previous versions of the data to restore. Thank you.

Sinchu: Emphasizing that I've used Dsyncronize for years and it's definitely my go-to sync program, I acknowledge any program that deletes files should probably send them by default to the recycle bin. I've added something to the entry.

Wrote to creator

BIG problem I tested your program today & it deleted a number of folders. They did not go to the recycle bin? Just GONE

There were 20 folders on the drive. Your program deleted all the folders that began with ## example D:\## Classical

None of the others were changed.

All I tried was copy one tiny folder to another.

Your program deleted 280 Gig's

Is there anything I can do ? Or just use UNDELETE software..

NOT impressed

his reply

If you don't select "Use Recycle Bin" the program deletes directly files.

DSynchronize is designed for Power Users, if you select some options without know their effect, can produce big damages.

DSynchronize has been downloaded 66335 times on last two months. You are the only user that have reported these problems, so I think that the cause of these troubles it's an configuration error not a program error.

VERY SCARY program just deletes what it wants like another post above. So I am not the ONLY ONE

Maybe I misunderstood "synchronize"? If I have a and a , I want the destination folder/tree to mirror the source. This doesn't do that.
I thought I'd use this to maintain a second copy of my digital music collection, but when I did a bunch of tagging and renaming, and use this, the destination files were not renamed. I don't expect a utility to detect if the content has changed -- I just wanted (and want going forward) my "backup" to be exactly like the original -- with extra files and folders gone, and new ones copied. This requires a "utility" because much of the change to the source involves cleaning up filenames, so drag-n-drop produces two (or more) "copies" of the same songs in the backup.

Thanks for trying. Dsyncronize has been a reliable program and the developer has been fairly active over the years. I hope he gets back to you.

v2.30.9

Latest version of DSynchronize (2.30.9) fails to run on my system (Windows 8.1 x64)- it opens and exits almost immediately. This never happened with any version prior to 2.30.9. I contacted the developer but haven't got any response so far. If he had responded I would have provided him with the dump files.

@ahmedemad: you might try Recuva, for example (http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=1139)...

Correction, it only happens when I run it under Sandboxie.
