ASuite is a lightweight program launcher that allows you to define a hierarchical list of menus for launching applications and folders from the system tray. It includes an EXE scanner for easy addition of applications to the launcher, supports relative paths for portable use, and maintains a most-recently used list of applications for convenient access.

The new two-window-layout looks fine, but is unhandy when moving around the window because you have to move both windows. They don't glue to each other automatically. This is why I still prefer the older 1.2 version.
ASuite is an very good alternative to handle huge amount of standalone softwares - currently is still evolving. But heading to be the most usable launcher around. You can controll everything fully and fast even (if you prefer) by keyboard. The 1.3.1 is heavily bugfixed and seems to preparing the next big hit. ASute 1.4.....
"REMORA USB", coupled with "Autorun.usb" Service is one the best solution for any removable usb device (HD or Pen).
Both are really ads-free, unlimited, complete freewares.
I think it is THE must-have usb utility for nowadays usbUse.
Just find 'n get them! And tell me what! Be HAPPY!
A couple tips:
Under File->Options->Various->System Tray, I check "Enable the System Tray Icon" and in the drop-down menu I select "Show menu". That way the same menu shows up with right and left clicks on the tray icon, and it's more resilient to changes in screen size.
After you add an application, you can open its properties and make it a relative link using ..\..\blahblah\ syntax.
(I am using v. 1.3.1. YMMV on 1.4)
The best application launcher for me. Starting faster than PStart. Zip version is available @ sourceforge so you don't have to use uniextract.
Great launcher. Faster (with cache actived) and open source.
I use ASuite since a long time on WinME without any problems
... thanks for your site, I like it - but your site doesn´t like my verification codes I´ve put properly in ...

I love Asuite (V1.5)! It's got everything I need, and for the features i don't need, i can just turn them off.
I've been looking for a launcher that will show the details of a program when I mouse-Over the program (because the names and icons of some programs are not self-explanatory as to what the program actually does, example - "poke!"), and Asuite is the only one to date that comes closest to this by utilizing its 2nd window pane (which in version 1.5 glues itself to the main window). The info is displayed by highlighting the app in the list, not by mouse-over, but it's still better than right-click>properties. Pstart's "additional text" field below every program in the list does the same job, but it only shows 1 type of detail at a time.
Asuite 1.5 comes in the classic window mode and the new pretty "fader menu" mode (looks like a vista start menu) which can be permanently deactivated if you don't like it.
can i use the default icons but larger ?
I tested all launchers, this is the best Launcher.
Has features that matches PStart, plus MORE. Recommended.
Hope this software will be up and running for years to come, it is the best launcher. El Salvador, keep up the good work!
Yeah, I switched over to this from PStart for two reasons.
It starts much faster (especially if you have a huge --and growing-- collection of items), and secondly it has this pop-up application info which is a BRILLIANT idea so you can make notes on the fly about each item. In my opinion, pop-out notepads in Application interfaces are great. I can't believe all other software programmers don't see it... It's like having a handy personal Help/Note system one tiny click away from your App. Unfortunately I can't give ASuite 10/10 because of one missing feature... It won't allow you to drag in Web Links (URL's) from the browser...Gee I wish I could program,; I would immediately add this feature.
I switched to ASuite after many years as a happy PStart user when the PStart.xml file got corrupted a couple of times.
Great software - simple and effective.
Two small nits:
* If you drag a folder into the app, it will rebuild the sub-tree of items in the folder every time the app is started (which takes time). This is easily avoided though by dragging in a shortcut instead of the folder itself.
* If a URL is dragged into the app from a browser, it's initially titled "Link" even though ASuite knows the URL.
