The best turn based strategy i have ever played since M.A.X.
I played it in a Linux Live distro [Wolvix-Games] and since then I never stoped lokking for the Wintel platform version.

Now Portable? Can't be better ;)

To save yourself all of the install/unistall messiness, you could just download the version from PortableApps.com http://portableapps.com/apps/games/wesnoth_portable

Maybe it's just me, but i don't like the potableapps packages. I prefer the software to made with the intention of being portable.

Also the interface slows start up time.

Most portable apps are already portable programs packaged with unnecessary junk files and a splash screen, there's a few exceptions of course.

btw nowadays wesnoth is at 1.10.- instead of 1.8 so the information is invalid.
