v1.4.8

juverax 2023-05-23 09:50

Scribus 1.5.8 released See https://www.scribus.net/scribus-1-5-8-released/
" The Scribus Team is pleased to announce the release of version 1.5.8. Like previous releases, work on version 1.5.8 focused mostly on bugfixes and code optimizations, the latter of which are expected to lead to reliability and speed improvements. We have also begun to prepare Scribus for using Qt6, which will make our work easier for future releases. "

I am not sure this release i portable, since itis not a "paf" file.

v1.4.8

...sorry, my previous comment only applies to the stable version 1.4.7 - changing "HKCU\Software\QtProject.." to "HKCU\Software\Trolltech.." in "ScribusPortable.ini" does it.
The test version (1.5.4) is stealth out of the box.

Unfortunately Scribus Portable (stable & test, @portableapps.com) is not stealth - HKCU\Software\Trolltech keys are left behind.
To make it stealth, you must edit the launcher script ("ScribusPortable.ini" under App{AppInfo\Launcher) - there the registry values are outdated: change every occurence of "HKCU\Software\QTPojects..." to "HKCU\Software\Trolltech...".
Perhaps John T. Haller changes it in the next release.

Anyone able to import or paste cjk? I'm on Korean Win XP but it won't display Korean Text. I've tried .odt, .txt, and pasting from widows clipboard.

The font paths ARE SHOWN as availabe under File/preferences/fonts/available fonts.

English text pastes and imports just fine.

is anyone aware of a spell checker that works with (portable) scribus?

Garadon 2007-11-27 00:20

Has anyone been able to import an EPS file in Portabe Scribus?
I am failing miserably with eps files created in Matlab or in Inkscape. The non-portable version used to be fine...
