CountryTraceRoute helps to diagnose the path and delay of information across the internet. The program is similar to the command-line tracert but much faster. CountryTraceRoute also displays the country of the owner of every IP address found in the traceroute, and ASN Network Carrier information per hop.
After the traceroute is completed, you can select all items (Ctrl+A) and then save them into csv/tab-delimited/html/xml file with 'Save Selected Items' option (Ctrl+S) or copy them to the clipboard (Ctrl+C) and then paste the result into Excel or other spreadsheet application.

philippe: Could you move that to forums? Seems like a better place for it.

Modified former forum topic generic pointer for one (hopefully) more focused.

CoutryTraceRoute v1.20 (02-MAR-2014)
Welcome CLI minor update (allows specifying target host address from the command line.)
Still waiting (im)patiently for a major CountryTraceRoute upgrade which will implement access to Maxmind revamped Geolite2 DB.
This evolution of MaxMind's current "GeoIP Legacy" DB, now supports IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, and includes a streamlined internal structure returning geographical data of refined precision (Geolite2 DB now using GeoNames.org data)
For the inquisitive mind:

Nirsoft's CountryTraceRoute uses third-party DataBase to display Geographic location data. Maxmind's GeoLiteCity.dat.gz DB just got updated; get the recent free version here:

@__philippe: for better form and a wider audience, I'd advise you post your great recommendations at TPFC forum -- and as CountryTraceRoute lacks the customary forum topic link, I would suggest you post to http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=100, for instance...

Little-known freeware Traceroute utilities: vTrace and Trout
In the category of forgotten oldies-but-goodies, besides vTrace cited before, i would like to mention another real jewel: Robin Keir's tiny Trout traceroute.
Written circa 2000, this minuscule (33k) program is still running with aplomb 13 years later (under Win XP, at least), just as fast as Nirsoft's CountryTraceroute, and boasts a built-in Whois lookup to boot. Admittedly, it does lack Nirsoft Trace more polished user interface and nifty hosts name Geographical information lookup.
vTrace, on the other hand, fits more in the medium-weight category (1M), but offers multiple additional functions (usually restricted to commercial software), such as: Ping, Whois, DNS records, animated path tracing over geographic map, and, most notably, the elusive ASN number and network provider name look up.
Both well worth a try:

v1.16
Among the four network utilities listed on PF board which include traceroute function (CountryTraceRoute | 3D Traceroute | Etoolz | HoverIP), the one I recommend is Nirsoft's CountryTraceRoute (for its small size, blinding fast execution, informative Geographic data displayed for each hop traversed).
However, 3D Traceroute has one distinctive feature not found in ANY other networking freeware anywhere (except for the little-known Vtrace from http://vtrace.pl): its traceroute will look up and display the ASN (Autonomous System) number for each hop traversed. (The ASN is used to identify each network provider along the trace.)
Wish Nirsoft would also integrate this capability into their excellent CountryTraceroute in future release.
Perhaps if enough current users show interest, Nir will oblige ?

AHA ! CountryTraceroute v1.30 released 30MAY2019
CT finally provides pertinent ASN information, (useful to identify Network Carrier per IP hop),
as presaged by the recent introduction of ASN data in IPinfoOffline v1.50.
Happy conclusion to a looong quest for a coveted feature (began JUNE 2013)...;-)

Caveat:
Loading the optional Maxmind Geolite2 ASN*.CSV file alone takes about 10 sec(under XP)
or 5 sec(under Win7). Loading all the Geolite2 *.CSV files takes about 28 sec (XP)
Loading time might be considerably reduced in future versions by querying the equivalent Maxmind Geolite2 compiled binaries instead of *.CSV
...Fingers crossed...;-)
