Anyone know why i can't seem to scan ESET SysInspector's webpage?
http://www.eset.eu/support/changelog-eset-sysinspector
(which btw would be a good addition to this website)
@shaka - I don't think it likes the user agent for WebVersions (or WGET for that matter), a web proxy seems to work:
ESET SysInspector;;1.2.021;http://www.surfwithease.com/index.php?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.eset.eu%2Fsupport%2Fchangelog-eset-sysinspector&hl=1c4;false;
Thank you for the idea, it explains the error alright.
I found another suitable page though:
http://www.eset.ie/download/sysinspector.php
Works ok.
The first time I checked this out, I was very confused on how you use it. However, after testing it out, it's VERY easy.
0) I deleted the txt file and started fresh (was easier for me).
1) Add each program. If you use a program launcher, just go through each program. If you don't use a program launcher, you should! Check out the different ones - http://www.portablefreeware.com/?sc=116.
2) To add a program, right click on the grid and go to "new".
3) Name the program.
4) Specify the URL for the program.
5) Type the current version of the program into the "New Web Version" field.
6) Click "find".
7) Wait a second or so until the web version is set.
7b) What actually is happening is that the web page is being downloaded and searched for the version you specified. Then, the necessary settings are set so that an automatic web update can be done in the future. You can see these settings by clicking "Advanced Options >>".
8) Add extra information as desired.
9) Click "Save to list".
10) If your version is not the current version, download the program.
11) Then, double click on the "My version" column to set your version to the web version.
Do this for each of your programs (and when you add a new program) - this may a lengthy process the first time you do it. In the forum topic mentioned above (the un-official how to) they were suggesting how to make this process easier. Please add your feedback.
To check for updates for you programs, just click the "web update" button.
