Answering Tracy's question: (tracy: can anyone tell me why it tries to connect to this webmail server when you start it please? http://213.186.33.19/ [2009-05-26 14:32])

That IP address is listed on spamhaus.org, so it must be part of a spambot. I suggest maybe not using this program until the program author can prove that this program is not part of spam attacks.

turns out its just looking for updates. Check it with http://www.selfseo.com/find_ip_address_of_a_website.php I'm happy enough

I would like to know how much memory it uses as this is the most important for me and the thing that often does not get mentioned, how much memory on starting it up and what does it go up to after running for say 10mins

Tracy, Concerned Unser, Appetizer is not doing anything harmful and is definitely not part of a spam attack. You can check the source code (available on Sourceforge) and see for yourself. The IP you are seeing is the IP of the server that hosts http://app.etizer.org (you can type "ping app.etizer.org to verify). It happens because Appetizer checks every 7 days if a new version is available. To do so, it downloads this file on the project website: http://app.etizer.org/VersionInfo.xml So as you can see nothing harmful is being done :)

I updated to Appetizer V1.4.6.494 but all my settings are lost! I supposed that the Settings folder must work with the new .exe file, but don't work. (A lot of time to re-construct icons and folders). I think Appetizer must have an export Settings possibility (and of course Import them when we update to a new version)
Great Program!

Despite setting label-positions "right" or "bottom" the labels are not visible.

Is there a changelog?

Really nice program. I love appetizer :)

You can drag a file over the appropriate icon and Appetizer will pass it along correctly. Really nice when unpacking archives or installers, for example; a feature which is sadly lacking in many other launchers. Occupied about 6 private MB vs 8 for PStart (both with the same ~20 shortcuts) Sadly, 1.4.7.508 won't show/hide on double clicking the tray icon, and anyway crashes regularly on my machine. I hope work continues on this one.
