NK2Edit v3.40 Updated

  • 485KB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 17 Jun 2019
  • Suggested by guinness

NK2Edit edits the "auto-complete" entries in Microsoft Outlook. Auto-complete is a useful feature to automatically suggest items based on the first few letters of the recipient, but over time can gather invalid or unwanted contacts. The name comes from the .NK2 file extension Outlook saves this email list to.

A 64-bit version (only for using with Outlook 2010/2013 64-bit) is available.

  • Fixed issue: In previous versions, the 'Replace' command of NK2Edit scripts replaced only the 'Email' and 'Display Name' fields instead of replacing all major fields. Starting from this version, it replaces the specified string in all fields. If from some reason you want to keep this command in the previous mode, change the value of ReplaceCommandMode from 1 to 0 in NK2Edit.cfg.

DxWnd lets you run many applications that default to fullscreen in a window, ideal for games. The program is a Win32 "hooker" program that intercepts and alters the behavior of window messages and APIs. It picks up events and injects code into the configured tasks to run fullscreen programs in a windowed environment while maintaining expected behavior.

Who are you? Like if gho the main guy behind DxWnd move over to Github, only then I would consider it an "official" repo, but other wise it seems pretty unofficial to me when a random person sets one up.

What are some of your contributions to DxWnd? Why didn't gho set it up instead?

refack on 2017-04-22 14:53

@Special, I'm just helping gho with the "mechanics" of the mirror. He owns and approves the mirror.

Tip: no help files are included in recent builds, so it is advised you grab v2_04_10 from Sourceforge which has the most up to date files.

BTW, the GitHub repository mentioned above by refack is currently empty.

It is stealthy unless you change any of the options. That will leave C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\MiTeC\Task Manager DeLuxe\TMX64.ini

The homepage claims "...lightweight portable package with many more enhancements. It needs no installation and leaves no tracks in system so it can be easily used as portable application everywhere. ", which is incorrect.

DesktopOK v6.35 Updated

billon on 18 Jun 2019
  • 438KB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 18 Jun 2019
  • Suggested by JohnW

DesktopOK contains a host of beneficial Windows interface tweaks. The program can save the current icon view by resolution and make it easy to swap between views, showing all saved view formats in a list. Other tools include basic screenshots, the ability to force-close programs, color tool, volume and more:

  • Interface tools include reducing clutter with a minimize-to-tray by right clicking on a window close button, mouse hiding and ability to hide desktop icons after a period of inactivity (click on the desktop to make them re-appear). You can even modify default icon spacing.

  • Window management tools include scrolling any window that your mouse hovers over (not just what's in focus) and alt+drag (for moving windows without having to hold your cursor over the top bar).

Category:
System Requirements: Win98 / WinME / WinNT / Win2K / WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Win10

How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. In this folder, create an empty text file and name it DesktopOK.ini. Launch DesktopOK.exe or DesktopOK_x64.exe.

Possible issues:
  • The program is in German: If not automatically set to the English, click the by clicking the flag in the lower left corner of the window for any of 24 world languages.
  • It saves to AppData: If you don't create an empty text file, it writes to %APPDATA%/DesktopOK/DesktopOK.ini. If you accidentally skipped this step, you can simply move this file over to the application folder.
Similar/alternative apps: AltDrag, ICU
What's new?
  • DesktopOK is again with Code Signing certificate.
  • Small corrections for Windows 10 especially MS-Surface devices.
  • Update of the languages.

I still use & really like this program now using Windoze 10. I'm anal about my Desktop icons arrangement, and this program makes it so easy to line them up just as I want. Thanks to the maker for a program that I have used for a very long time across many different operating systems. Has always been flawless for me :)

It would be even better if DesktopOK didn't force an icon rearrangement with every resolution change -- in my laptop, a lot of those are temporary, resulting from user logon or the machine coming out of sleep state before, rerouting graphics to my higher resolution external screen. After some time it's galling to have to restore icon arrangement after every such hiccup. I've gone through all settings several times but up to now have been unable to disable this behavior.

MIKLO on 2017-04-20 14:18

@Midas strange because I have used on laptops for a very long time and have never seen this problem, now I really curious to see if I can make happen. More to be revealed.
