Pop Peeper & POP3/Imap Accounts

If you are using "POP3 and Imap Accounts" in Pop Peeper and you wish to ensure a secure connection then follow these instructions.

1. Download and Install the SSL Plugin
2. Edit each POP3 and Imap account and to the right of the "Server Type" select 'TLS' or 'SSL' (choose either one that works, the difference is negligible; not all servers support TLS and\or SSL)

Now the SSL Plugin is brilliant but if you wish to have an up to date Version, then follow these steps to extract from a Win32 built OpenSSL plugin, without having to do the compiling yourself.

1. Download Win32 OpenSSL v<VersionNumber> Light edition and extract to a folder of your choice.
2. In {app} copy libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll into the POP Peeper installation folder (typically, C:\Program Files\POP Peeper)
3. Follow Step 2 above.

Excellent. There are soooo many projects here on the site, a great way to give them life again is by stuff like what you're doing. Bravo.

Win32OpenSSL is currently at version 1.0.0g as the version included with POP Peeper is version 1.0.0e.

Why don't you test and let us know?

Yes, it's necessary for v4. But v4 also added something very nice: OAuth2 support!
Well, it's not only nice but it's something that becomes mandatory over time.
It means you don't give PP your password. It instead browses to the website (e.g. Gmail) and lets you login directly, which produces a key.
It's not for POP3, but for IMAP though.
